The final vote totals are in for N.H. and Senator Santorum passed Gingrich when all pct's reported in. Santorum took 4th place and Gingrich took 5th. This is especially impressive impressive because the Santorum campaign did not TV ads in N.H. but Gingrich did. The official count:

Santorum 23,408
Gingrich 23,291
Perry 1,764

So, even though N.H. is a lot more liberal and had plenty of RAT crossovers, the rankings of the candidates going after the conservative vote are the same as they were in Iowa. Santorum does best, then Newt, and then way, way behind is Perry.

But regardless of the numbers nationally, Gingrich fans apparently far outnumber Santorum supporters here on FR. They want us to know that we can "beat Romney" if Santorum "drops out" and agrees to be the "running mate" of the guy who didn't make the top 3 in any state and hasn't won a single county yet (heck, at least Hillary could claim she had 48% of the RAT party delegates when she said the guy with 52% of the delegates should drop out and be her running mate)

And Perry... I'm not even going to make another joke at his expense. Too easy. But if you're a Perrybot and you think he's gonna win big any day now, I have a bridge to sell you.

Billy,
both AP-WMUR and Boston globe are reporting
23,411 NEWT 23,362 RS

both fell below the 10% minimum threshold and will receive ZERO delegates, instead of ONE each. Victims of the open primary.

Of course, both NEWT and RICK are still the guys running their campaigns going forward. RICK the ideologue and NEWT the ideas guy. Neither are interested in the details of the electorate and neither seem to have a grasp of "network building" the way ronPaul does.

Does NEWT end his townhalls by asking people to sign up and participate? Does he tout his website .... asking people to go there and submit their email? Does he even ask his staff to have everyone sign in at the door with a name and contact info? NO. Not part of his mindset. Same for RICK.

So being a western NH rural specialist, interested in organizing the anti-MITT coalition ... the campaign that I was interested in still existed. But it was co=opted by JH and ronP ... bunch of folks running around being anti-mitt, but they were with other campaigns. So did I make the wrong choice going with NEWT over RICk? Neither campaign existed outside of Hillsboro and Rock'ham counties in the east. So I really had no choice at all and went to the eastern suburb of Milford. I stood in the hdqtrs lobby pointing west, and the staff wondered, "why is he interested in those rural counties? It's a 2-hour drive out there."

If RS and NG teams allowed this in NH ... they will allow it in various other states going forward and ronpaul will continue to drain the energy away.

Randita, teaparty folks should be finding a way to defeat MITT and they are not. Many are new to politics and don't think highly of RS or NG cuz they were in office back a few years and aren't that familiar with them.

AuH2O and Billy, I hope RS stays as Newt and rick will have to each skip states down the line so we will have someone to support everywhere. Does not get to be a problem until April winner-take-all states.

I encouraged the RS folks to go to ME and VT to get started. They are Mitt states, but we cannot allow ronPaul to monopolize the opposition in such states. We cannot allow this to become a 2-man race anywhere! No MITT vs. Ronpaul states.

I am going to Maine next. Caucuses Feb 4th.
