It's uncanny how accurate the averaged polls have been in Iowa and New Hampshire.

With SC being an open primary, I think they'll be heavily skewed towards Romney/Paul.

OOOHHH!!! I get it. In a real Republican primary, Romney gets 94%.

Considering how liberal the state is, I found that Santorum did actually better than I expected.

New Hampshire is an aberration.

Likewise for Iowa.

I've long advocated a two-state opening primary with Tennessee and Oklahoma starting the election season. Those states are far more representative of the real America and they're both small enough (geographically and in terms of population) for the candidates to do retail politics as well as media buys.

Had Tennessee and Oklahoma launched the 2012 primaries, is there any doubt that the results we've seen thus far would have been far different...and far better?

“...should consider swallowing Paul’s foreign policy and in return they get a domestic dream candidate and, perhaps more importantly, No Romney.”

And also swallow his praising of traitors?
Also swallow his decades of racist vile loony newsletters?
Also swallow his blaming the US for 9/11 and pandering to the Truther kook fringe?
Also swallow his sympathizing with the Occupy parasites.
Also swallow his participating on conspiracy nut shows and pandering to those fringe kooks?
Also swallow his working closely with Soros and Barney Frank?
Also swallow his supporters full of Democrats, foilhats, white supremacists, and the fringe of society?
Also swallow his trashing of the US Constitution?
Also swallow his dope pushing?
Also swallow his isolationism and gutting US defense?
Also swallow his support of Iranian and terrorist nukes?

No thanks. Not for real and rational American conservatives. That crackpot can shove it!

Gingrich and Perry have succeeded in turning Mitt into a conservative. And judging by Romney’s acceptance speech tonight, he sounds more conservative than either Gingrich and Perry. What the heck happened?

I wish I could explain to fellow conservatives just how dire this is. Romney already has the establishment machinery and the big money on his side, you add to this a momentum and he will become the default nominee after winning a few more primaries.

He MUST, MUST, MUST be crushed in South Carolina and Florida to show that the base is soundly rejecting him. Only a brutal arse whooping in a conservative state will break the media narrative.

Hilarious results from NH. Go Ron Paul, Go! /s

Huntsman counted on NH to "launch" his campaign.

No "conservative" made the top 3.

I agree, not terrible for a gay marriage state, and he would do even better without conservative competition (they all would).

I was actually hoping Ron Paul would beat Romney, I hate him, but it would deprive Romney of victory.

What a knee slapper Ge0....

Where are the real Americans who haven't spent the last freaking decade or two in government/politics? You know, someone who can relate.

And judging by Romney’s acceptance speech tonight, he sounds more conservative than either Gingrich and Perry.

Funny stuff. They'll say anything won't they?

What a sad hoot.

"Romney 36% Paul 25% Huntsman 17% Gingrich 10% Santorum 10%

Elsewhere I read that Willard got about 20,000 votes. Why, oh why do we let these Northeastern liberals (I repeat myself) effectively chose the GOP candidate - and in an open primary? They will serve us up another RINO idiot like McCain

No, we need a state with an urban population, too. One of the reasons the GOP does poorly in cities is that all of the energy in the campaigns is directed at a few liberal rural states and it looks to city dwellers as if the GOP is telling them to go drop dead.

Have one rural state (but not a liberal Midwest state) and one with a big urban population, such as Florida or even New York. Or, better yet, have all primaries on the same day.

Well, as it looks like Newt will beat or tie Santorum, it seems to me this sets Newt up for SC pretty well. With all the much ballyhooed bump that Santorum was supposed to be bringing from IA to NH, he should have beaten Newt tonight. Perry may as well just get out, since 1% is pathetic, even in NH. If Perry would just get out, Newt can beat Romney in SC.

Also, Newt has made it clear in several interviews that he is not attacking capitalism, or even venture capitalism.

I was surprised Rick Perry didn’t do better - I like that he had the guts to go target shooting last week. That shows some conviction.

Also - why does the RNC anoint so many RINO’s - they do it every time!

I remember how they tried to marginalize Reagan - he was, according to the main body of the RNC, unelectable (I am showing my age).

We just don’t get any real choice anymore - just anointed, payed off, insiders.
