If he really wants Obama to have a second term he would pick Santorum for VP.

God forbid Mittens gets the nod.

If he does, he might as well pick Governor “Moon Beam” to try to get votes cause he sure won't get them from the Conservative side of the voting public.

Anyway, who cares about the VP, the Prez makes all the decisions. Veeps just stand around and go to state funerals and campaign events.

How about Daley? He needs a job, doesn’t he?

How about Huntsman? He will work for anybody! I think he needs a conservative southerner! Maybe Perry? How about Mark Rubio.. Two moderate easterners will not fill the bill!

Then you may as well cast your vote for Obama. And don’t complain about it for the next four years either!

Stuff it!

YOu might as lay off of the blame game.

It ain't going to work this time.

IF Obama wins, because Romney is the candidate, it will be all Romney's fault because of his liberal record, his untrustworthy character, his lying about his past, his using surrogates to attack other candidates and pretending he has nothing to do with, and his total and complete lack of small-government credentials.

I have a hard time believing Santorum would agree to be Romney's Veep; he's the antithesis of Romney.

Santorum endorsed, traveled with, and campaigned for Romney in 2008, so I think he would agree. The question is whether Romney thinks Santorum would be the best one to help the ticket. I do think Romney would pick a social conservative.

How about former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford?

LOL. He'd be much more likely to pick the current South Carolina governor.

"Christie is leaving the door open."

That's got to be an awful big door.

Him...in the link..a bulldog!

Christie? I doubt it. Two northeastern blue state governors would be two too many.

I like Rick Santorum, and would vote for him as the Pres nominee or VP to Newt or Perry. However, if he saddles up with Romney....he is toast to me. I will not vote for Romney...nothing will make him acceptable to me.

Even if Sarah Palin (What made McCain acceptable) were to be Romney’s running mate, I still will not vote for that ticket and I would lose my great admiration for Sarah.

It would NEVER be Newt. It won’t be Sarah. It will likely not me Rubio or Jindal as these two are Constitutionally ineligible. It wouldn’t be Bachmann, nor Santorum for the same reasons — there’s not enough of a geographical difference for either of them. Romney MIGHT carry PA with or without Santorum, and with Bachmann it’s likely the same in MN.

If Romney were the nominee, he would need a Southern or Southwestern Conservative, probably a popular governor in a swing state — say, Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico? She is Hispanic, generally regarded as Conservative (though I don’t know a lot of details), she IS a natural born citizen, and she opposes illegal immigration. She’s also apparently done a pretty good job of running her state Gov’t and budget — but this is pretty much all hearsay. Martinez who cover a lot of bases for a Romney, though, and he would still be the “Star” on the ticket.

Not that I would like him anymore....

Methinks Romney talked to him about getting back in, to try to dilute Newt/Santorum. . . .

____________________________________________________________

I don't think Perry would talk to Romney on a dare unless he had the chance to throw a good punch.

I'm not sure it is time to resign myself to Romney but I admit it is looking bad, we'll have a better idea tomorrow.

If Romney is the nominee I hope he considers Bachmann then she would be the first woman president after Romneys term. If Romney is the nominee I hope he considers Bachmann then she would be the first woman president after Romneys term.

Can't decide if I'd rather get paid for writing a wretchedly toporous process article like Thomas Fitzgerald, or take glee in cashing the check, knowing all along it's Rubio.

But wow, in the recent 'heckler' video in NH, Christie looks like Fattie Arbuckle. Dude, you're gonna be on camera for the next year nonstop. Eat a salad.

Can someone explain to me why we are devoting a thread to Romney's running mate?

Unfrickingbelievable.

“I find myself hoping that Huntsman does well in New Hampshire. While he’s far from my first choice, I’d prefer him to Romney.”

I’m not ashamed to admit I have a bias against having a Mormon as POTUS. No Mormon candidate, for POTUS, will be get my vote. I will vote for them for lesser offices like Senator or Congressman....but never POTUS or VPOTUS.

I consider “Mormonism” to be an insidious evil. I do not see Mormons as “evil”, just as poor misguided souls that have been sold chocolate candy that is actually chocolate covered poison - I looks and initially tastes good...but ultimately kills you. Joseph Smith was the 19th Centuries L. Ron Hubbard. A con man of amazing proportions. However, I see the earnest adherants of Mormonism as victums of a great con...with eternal consequences. I cannot hate them, I pity them, like I do persons in foreign countries that have never heard about the Real Jesus Christ, and wished I could set them free with truth. But it takes God’s grace to open eyes.

Where did you hear that? Romney isn’t worthy of Bob McDonnell. I’d be floored. Wish Bob was at the top of the ticket.
