Watch the video.
Romney laughs almost the entire video. Although it was against the law to transport people or animals on top of vehicles, Romney's excuse was that he didn't know about the law.
Nevermind the fact that the dog had diarrhea in the kennel during the trip.
That’s hardly airtight. In fact, I’m sure that the windshield was intended for the dog’s comfort. This certainly isn’t as cruel as those people who allow their digs to ride untethered in the back of a PU truck, or hanging out the window of their car. Think of the poor dog’s eyes, exposed to grit and sticks.
I’m not a Romney bot, but criticize him for his policies, not for a mistake he made 20-30 years ago and realizes was the wrong choice.
Kinda has shades of National Lampoon’s “Vacation.”
How about Romney and the Boston tunnel incident. Does anyone have the link?

Not to mention that it has been discussed to death in countless threads over the years.
Most Americans love dogs, so yes, this is an issue that will (and should, in my opinion) cause people to question what kind of person he is.
Look at post six, the dog was not fine, but the trip ran on for a total of 12 hours.
I don’t like it either. I’m just lamenting the state of what passes for news. Between reality shows, news playing “gotcha”, and sensationalism rampant, there seems to be less and less room for serious discussion. I miss William F. Buckley, Jr., Bishop Sheen, and yes, even Tim Russert.
If you are not a fully vested Mormon, you are not allowed to attend the part of the Mormon wedding that is inside the Temple. It dos not matter who you are, or what your relationship is to the bride. That is how it always has been, and anyone who has lived in a part of the country where there are a lot of Mormons residing knows that.
No way I would vote for this guy. My mom and dad has more kids than he and his wife does. They never put the dog on the top of the car on our family trips. Dad bought a bigger car for us kids and the family pet dog. Who does that what he did!? What a jerk to be nice.
I am with you, I do not think it is any big whoop.
The dog was not harmed. It was fine. I oppose torturing of animals but they are not on a par with people.
Consider how they are shipped on airlines, like baggage. Allowance is made for temperature and potty/water needs, and up the conveyor belt they go.
Not ok for people. Fine for animals.
I have been wondering when this was going to surface again. This is the reason I hate this guy.
Watch how a man treats his animals, and you will see his true character.
The ultimate ticket:
Romney / Huckabee 2012
Fighting Like a Dog for America
With Michael Vick at SoS
I remember the LBJ/beagle dust-up.Made me want to pick him up by the ears just to see how much HE would like it.

I agree there are bigger fish to fry, regarding Romney’s policies, etc.
But Romney doesn’t “realize it was the wrong choice” to put his dog on the roof of a car.
Watch the video. He has zero regrets about what he did.
