In no order of preference . . .

The Beatles, "If I Fell"
Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, "Without Love"
Nat (King Cole and Natalie Cole, "Unforgettable"
Blue Oyster Cult, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"
Frank Sinatra, "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning"
The Dixie Cups, "Chapel of Love"
The Rivieras, "It's Easy to Remember"
The Drifters, "Save the Last Dance for Me" (which becomes especially poignant when you realise lyricist Doc Pomus was afflicted with polio and couldn't dance himself . . . but fell in love with and married a Broadway show dancer)
Ike and Tina Turner, "River Deep, Mountain High"
The Raspberries, "Let's Pretend"
The Beach Boys, "Wouldn't It Be Nice"
Otis Redding, "These Arms of Mine"
James Brown, "Prisoner of Love"
Johnny Cash, "I Walk the Line"
Bruce Springsteen, "Little Girl (I Wanna Marry You)"
Bob Dylan, "Sara" (which he wrote as a plea to his first wife in a bid to help keep their marriage together; in fact, she was in the recording studio when Dylan cut the song for Desire)
The Temptations, "My Girl"
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, "More Love" (which Smokey Robinson wrote for his then-wife after she miscarried what would have been their first child; he wanted to reassure her of his love)
The Beach Boys, "Don't Worry Baby" (the greatest love song ever written hooked around a drag race)
The Four Tops, "Reach Out, I'll Be There"
The Beatles, "And I Love Her"
David Johansen, "Justine"
Frank Sinatra, "These Foolish Things"
The Four Seasons, "Rag Doll"
The Lovin' Spoonful, "Darlin', Be Home Soon"
Simon and Garfunkel, "Bridge Over Troubled Water"

. . . just to name a few . . .

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Radar Love by Golden Earring.

Besides having “Love” in the title so that it fits the criteria, it is the quintessential driving song.

(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)

Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, fatima, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities.

Well...I don't know if anyone has selected this one...
since there are over 250 posts already
but my favorite love song is
To Love Somebody by the BeeGees.

Now our local DC Metroland weather report

~ Today...Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.

~ Tonight...Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. South winds around 5 mph.

Friday...Sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Heat Wave!!

I've got to make my rounds.
But, you stay right where you are.
Keep the troops entertained and the Canteen clean...
Cause...if you don't...I'll tell Ma!

The FR Canteen is

Come in and sit for a while.

There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

PLEASE REMEMBER THEM ....

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

This Clyde McPhatter hit from the early months of 1957 sounds like an old Methodist hymn.
