Now saying FOUR votes. Did the 2nd outstanding precinct just come in? Is that it?

Correction... now it’s SANTORUM by four votes!

Santorum won tonight, even if he comes in second

Willard was his usual affable plastic self, Santorum spoke from the heart, something Willard could never do and expose his secretive strange inner core beliefs

the difference showed big-time

The whole thing probably won’t be decided until the Chicago precincts report.

This is what is called a virtual tie. Should Romney prevail in a virtual tie, the headline will be that Romney won. Should Santorum prevail in a virtual tie, the headline will be that it was a virtual tie.

The liberal media and the Democrats love Mitt — for now — the way they loved McCain four years ago. They very much want him to be the nominee because they know he is not electable.

As for the other candidates: Reagan, McCain, and Dole all ran for the nomination at least once before they got nominated.

George H.W. Bush lost a Senate race in his home state. (So did someone named Mitt Romney.)

From this day on, Santorum gains ground and Romney loses ground.

Romney is a fake. Santorum is real and will beat obama.

Anyone else have an issue with how poorly the IA GOP is fumbling the election? It appears to me that the establishment hacks are vote shopping for Mittens for some reason. This should have been concluded hours ago. There are not that many people voting in this thing.

Rove is on Fox implying that whatever they have yet to count will probably favor Romney. Seems strange it has taken so long to find these precious things....

I could not agree more. I listened to Rick speak, and was moved. I listed to a few minutes of Romney and had to move the dial on my radio. He honestly sounded like Ted Kennedy the way he talked.

Carl Spackler would be proud:

Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac... It’s in the hole! It’s in the hole! It’s in the hole!

I don't doubt the press will sell it the way you suggest. However, I think Santorum is the clear winner here. Romney only received what he's pretty much had from the start. The game changer was Santorum. He's the one who came out of virtually nowhere. The anti-Romney vote is stable and has been for months. It's still split between the various non-Romney candidates, but that will change. The only other candidate close to Romney is Huntsman, and you can see there's no votes there. Romney is hopefully toast. Conservatives despise wishy-washy ways.

Very strange. For the longest time the reporting was that there were only two precincts yet to come in, with Santorum leading by 18 votes.

Now it shows nine precincts outstanding, with Santorum only leading by four votes.

Something is starting to smell very funny here...

Karl Rove just reported he has inside information that one precinct under counted votes for Romney. The correction may make Romney the winner.

Yup, insiders manufacturing votes for their guy.

had to find them in the trunk of the car, or maybe they had to call Franken....

Or maybe they had to wait for most to go to sleep before they stuffed the box.

Actually, Rove said it was unlikely that Romney could win, and that it was still Santorum’s night either way.

Santorum has plainly exposed Mitt's weakness.

But he has not established his own viability going forward.

Newt is helped the most here.

Sorry to say, but FAUXNEWS fits into the group that you're talking about. They lost bigger than Michelle Bachmann and Jon Huntsman tonite. And that's sad.

Santorums speech was very moving and memorable. Romneys speech was painfully awkward.

"Something is starting to smell very funny here..."

Changing the ballot rules in other states at the last minute to benefit Romney; fishy votes being found out of nowhere in Iowa. Same as it ever was with the Establishment...
