"Once they get a hold of the crazy things he's said and done like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple of hours so his other children would know that the child was real," Democratic commentator Alan Colmes said on FOX News today. "That's a cheap shot, Alan. To say it's crazy, something that's that personal and hurtful as losing a child and to mock it like that is beyond the pale and beneath you," Colmes' conservative opponent Rich Lowry said after the personal attack. I even think some of the dastardly characters we have in the main stream media are not going to go as low as you just have Alan, National Review editor Rick Lowry said later in the conversation.

InvisibleChurch actually posted the script for “The Obsolete Man” a few years back.

Another Twilight zone episode I liked was about the old man in the cave.
After a nuclear war, the townspeople were living on the edge of starvation amid plenty according to the rules of an old man in the cave but they had never seen him. The finally broke into the cave and found a computer which they destroyed. They then went back to town and ate and drank all they wanted and died. Sterling’s narration was about the loss of faith leading to death.
5 months........premature babies are born daily now with less development.
But this isn't a baby to you is it? What is it Mariner, just another viable tissue mass to be discarded or to be picked up by the funeral home and thrown into a casket?
Nothing Gets under my skin like Eugenics, which is what Alan Colmes and the Rest of the Vile left believes in Consciously or Unconsciously, it is a belief based in Evil and Madness!
Maybe Mariner would be more comfortable at a less conservative forum since he finds this so distasteful and weird. Conservatives “get it” that this is a precious life lost and grieving is a natural process.
Interesting double-standard how libs make moral judgments any time they want while claiming not to and lambasting conservatives for doing so.
Alan puts the “douche” in douchebag.
A friend of mine died with four young children and his wife in bed with him. They planned it that way. They all stayed with him for I think a couple of hours after he died until they were ready to have him carried to the mortuary. It sounds a bit creepy but I think I understand it. He died from cancer and had known for months he was terminal. About a month before he went with his two oldest children to see his beloved Jayhawks play basketball in Allen Field House. RIP Steve.
OK...I just watched the video. That despicable shit Colmes sat there with a huge grin on his face all the time he was mocking the grief of the Santorum family.
I don’t want to start out the New Year by wishing someone ill, but Alan Colmes, you pile of steaming excrement: I hope you walk in front of a Mack truck some night when you’re leaving the FOX studio.
(I have been known to prophesy the death of public figures here on FR.)
“Funerals for the deceased have historically been held in the home.”
Yes. My mom lives in the house on our family homestead, which was built in 1830. There are two front doors. The one leading to the old “parlor” is wider than the other to accommodate caskets. Over generations, people born in that house died in that house, and were “laid out” there as well. It was normal.
I am sure Alan Colmes would ridicule that. I'd be happy to bury him across the street in the old orchard where they buried slave catchers that chased Negroes up into Indiana to return them to slavery.
They buried dogs there as well. Marked the sites with little pile of stones.
Their farm was athwart a serious part of the Underground Railway so there were always a lot of little piles of stones.
They just don't feel the loss ~ no empathy ~ probably something left over from the days of Homo ergaster.
They did nothing for the dead ~ just went on down the game trail.
The BABY no matter how old deserved to be honored. You are a moron to think otherwise.
Hope Drudge puts this up.
I think Alan was separated at birth from Jiminy Cricket.
I’d like to stomp his face in.
I loved that episode. The marathon is fantastic.
So, how long does it take you to get over that?
No funeral I knew of. No way to contact his family ~ no idea where they were since they'd split up and moved different places ~ no where even to send a card.
I thought I'd keep my eye open for anyone who'd known him in Nam, and finally, after 30 years I found those people.
30 years. It was like yesterday. Even now writing about it I feel the emotion of that very time.
Colmes is not normal!
When I was a child all wakes were held in homes.
There would be a large flower arrangement on the front door and a “Silence” sign on the sidewalk in front.
We kids wouldn’t dare make noise around a house where a wake was being held-—in those days we usually did as we were told.
This was an Irish neighborhood so it wasn’t so quiet as the evening wore on and the mourners started to party.
The operable word in Colmes comment was “PLAY”... did your husband play with the toupee...that would have been funny./s
