Not likely, as the entire park is under several feet of snow.

The article indicates that other Rangers had attempted to pull the car over, but the car fled and encountered a roadblock set up a mile down the road, and it was there that the ranger was shot. Unlikely that it was anything the shot ranger had done, and probably not anything to do with the park per se, but some one who didn’t wamt to be run through a computer.

She and another ranger were making a felony stop when the suspect started shooting. They weren’t able to get to her for 3 hours because of gunfire from the suspect.

No. She had set up a road block to stop a guy that had run from another ranger. The perp stopped, jumped out and shot her.
