Was wondering where you were.
When I found out that, if you worked in CA and earned a pension as part of your employment agreement, whether you retired in CA or not, they still taxed your pension, I got a really bad ‘tude about the place. Haven’t been there since the ‘80’s.

Wait! That still wouldn't disqualify me from state citizenship, would it?

I sneaked over the border into Pennsylvania on a beer run. I'm well-known for my beer runs.

if you worked in CA and earned a pension as part of your employment agreement, whether you retired in CA or not, they still taxed your pension, They tried to do that to the military stationed in California. They wanted to tax your retirement pro-rated to the amount of time you were stationed there.
The DOD, in a rare moment of sanity, told them to get bent.
