My son isn’t in that area, so I’m not too worried. They seldom see any tornadic activity where he lives.

On Saturday, during the windiest part of the day (sustained winds at about 37-43) we had some gusts in excess of 67 mph. Meh.

Image is from, I think, "Santa conquers the martians"Close. It's from Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
I saw the movie at the Loew's Grand Theater in Atlanta, Georgia as a child (okay, so I didn't get to see the premiere of Gone with the Wind at the Loew's Grand - but Santa Claus Conquers the Martians was fifth on my list).
Don't remember why were on a trip, but my parents decided they wanted to go Christmas shopping and dropped off the kids for a movie.
Contrasts of the HUGE theatre (2,000+) seats, cheesy film, and about 70 kids switching seats, throwing Walnettos, Raisinettes, and Jujubes, and the sound of 140 tennis shoes popping as they unstuck from the dried-Coca-Cola film on the concrete parts of the floor in front of the seats . . .

I think they would have had more money for the screenplay if they hadn't spent so much money on costumes and special effects.

Good morning!
It’s been years since I’ve seen a good Martian picture.
Thanks, Darks....

“...gusts in excess of 67 mph.” Eek! Do you have dust storms? Driving in those things is scary. Now, we’re in an area where tree limbs break off and fly around.

We DO have dust storms. The first one I saw from a distance was in a town called Gila Bend, AZ. We were on top of a mountain, where Igor worked, and saw the storm from the southwest.
It was HUGH!!! It was ugly and it was moving fast. If you’ve seen “Hidalgo,” the dust storm in it was real, and that’s exactly what this one looked like. I could feel my innards shaking all over again.

It was a typo.
And as usual it was done while I was lurking.

I saw the image at Cheezburger and it reminded me of the Monty Python Spanish Inquisition skit.

Afternoon, everyone. 57 and sunny, but very wet after several days of rain.
Kathleen has been eating and sleeping, eating and sleeping, sometimes both at once. New beds are being moved in for some byos. Bill will have to clean up his mess to make room for Tom in his room.

Knock, knock.
I request asylum.
I need to be near non-hysterical people.
