Newt Gingrich tells a tele-townhall that Sarah Palin is someone to be considered for the Vice Presidency or Energy Secretary.
Caller: If youre fortunate enough to be nominated, would you consider having Sarah Palin as your running mate?
Gingrich: She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, shes somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities.

How is responding to a question tactfully considered to be “floating” an idea?
Bizarre.
You, sir, are one common sense poster - consistently.
He was being a GENTLEMAN.
It was a set-up question -
I would hope freepers, at least, don't fall for the media tricks - geeese
Please read my post #136 for who NEWT has signaled he'll pick -
He did not float anything - the questioner did - knowing that Newt would hardly say - "NO, I"d never consider Sarah..."
He answered in a gentlemanly way...but YOU swallowed it- just think how many of the clueless Sheeple will.
The media loves y'all.
Post 136 for "get a clue"
You cite nothing but similarity with the exception of the actual “commented positively” Palin remarks. Of course Sarah would comment positively on anyone in the ‘R’ column - she’s still looking to influence ‘R’ politics. Your thinking that Sarah is tight with Newt is, at best, heavily larded with your own hope. At the conclusion of one recent interview with lengthy comments on Newty, she said that “anyone would be better than Barack Obama’. She is against big machine politics and the same ol’ same ol’. Newt, at his best, is highly unstable and clearly not a Constitutional conservative. He is, in fact, closer to Clinton in his ideals with the ‘Third Wave’ philosophy. Clearly, then, Sarah isn’t going to divorce Todd for Newty anytime soon. As far as Tea Party credentials and solid Palin support, forget it. Newton is a lost cause. If he extends a Cabinet post, she might take it, but only because it would afford advancing a Constitutional agenda in what would be, at best, a neutral administration.
Perry and Newt have the Cain (bluntness) You don’t have to recite like a history professor to be smart.Even some of Gingrichs closest pals have said he can go off on a history tangent and say something and then nothing really gets done and or what he said is taken wrong.
Can Gingrich truly shake up the same ole same ole DC while reaching across the aisle; is the question many independents that are flocking to the loon Paul want to know. It’s like you are in a business and you made some serious money with your partners, you left and returned and then said no more money making in our on shore slush funds fellas;they would look at you like you were nuts as your hands are already dirty..
Why don’t you call Gingrich on a radio show and ask him his views on insider trading and being a lobbiest in DC and if someone could ever really stop it?
See post # 136 for ‘GET A CLUE”
if you’re honest - as for mountainman - we know where you stand and we know you’d never miss a chance to carry water for the libStream media if you could slam Newt in doing so -
YAAAAAH! Stop confusing me with facts!!!!!
Well said. As well as Palin is not catty or jealous;as her fans have posted on here over the last few months.Go search all the Perry is jealous of Palin... because she stepped away from a podium at a governors conference, threads.Palin also does not have the hate for Bachmann that is protruded by her followers here.Recently she gave Bachmann kudos right out the gate.Your post is respectful and factual about Palin it is what Palin deserves.Thank you.
Hint - the post was sarcasm.
You're faithful to one thing, gotta say that - bashing Newt any way you can - a Master Half-Truther...
We KNOW you KNOW he didn't float anything - the caller did - and he answered in a gentlemanly way - what was he supposed to say "Hell no!"
You really are pathetic at this point. And we still have yet to hear who you ARE supporting and WHY.
I would vote for this ticket in a second!
Anything to get Palin back into the fray with skin in the game!
Well damn, then so much was RIGHT about that post. My bad.
Has Sarah decided it's between Newt & Mitt? ..seems so.
GOP Ballot Tracking, Among Republican Registered Voters (Romney 26, Gingrich 24, Paul 11.)
If you’re honest - read post #136 for “get a clue”
liar
It’s people like you who make me ALMOST wish the Contract with America had never happened and all of the good Newt forced down Clinton’s throat never happened - just so you can see what this country would have been like with an unchecked Bill and HIllary in charge. We wouldn’t need Obama to screw it up, I’ll tell you that.
But as I said, ALMOST. My family lives here too, and while Newt has ticked me off ten ways from Sunday on occasion, I will never forget how important the 94 election and subsequent congressional action was. I guess you already have, if you ever knew it.
Don’t respond. I know where you are coming from and I’ve no use for it.
You have no idea where I’m coming from. Sail on, Sailor! May you find the happy shore you seek.
Some would beg to differ, but I ‘preciate it. I see you holding your own in a few tiffs on this thread also....
Any GOP Candidate would do well to remain open to a Palin on their ticket. It almost worked for McLame, didn’t it?
I for one would not be too sure that she would accept such an offer, regardless of which Candidate or Nominee it came from.
I don’t know but have a sense that McLame did something to double cross her at the end that broke her heart, and I rather doubt that she wants to play that game again any time soon.
There is a reason why she is sitting this one out, IMHO.
“... There are also some very important Cabinet positions that she could fill very, very well. I cant imagine anybody who would do a better job of driving us to an energy solution than Gov. Palin, for example. So, tell her she certainly would be on the list of one of the people we would consider....”
That’s what he’’s REALLY floating - (but they don’t teach reading comprehension anymore)
I’m sure liking the names of people he’d like to have in his administration:
He says he will not keep ONE holdover from the present administration - a big mistake on Bush’s part - and even for Reagan.
Newt won’t pick Establishment pubbies either...That will go a long ways towards a clean sweep of our ‘enemies domestic’
For his VP, he’d like Lt.Col. Allen West and West is open to it - a ticket that couldn’t be beat and would set the country on fire.
http://teabook.org/forum/topics/gingrich-would-consider-allen-west-for-vp
He wants Bolton for SOS - and Bolton is open to it
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/dec/7/gingrich-john-bolton-will-be-my-secretary-state/
Now I have prayed for weeks he’s put Sarah in as Energy SEc - and let her loose to do what she did in Alaska
Have you any idea how much just these three could get done to turn our country around?
Newt knows all the players - they’re strengths, their loyalties to the country - etc - With Newt, our Country and our freedoms have a chance...
