True conservatives like Duncan Hunter in 08 and Rick Santorum now will never get a fair chance. Whew! Duncan Hunter and Rick Santorum. That's a pairing up/comparison that I could never make. Seems a stretch. As far as Perry, his HISTORY, rather than his words (which I also like) are what you look to to prove to yourself his conservative values.

Perhaps you should get out of Mexifornia every once in awhile. She’s pretty popular in fly-over country and in the South, etc.

I started out back in June wanting a Palin/Perry or Perry/Palin ticket, might as well finish the year that way.
Happy New Year 2DV!

Palin aint running except maybe to her Wasilla refrigerator.
Spoken like a pissant, newbie.

She’s popular with conservatives, including in California, not with Americans overall, who unfortunately get to vote. Fair or not, she’s been depicted as lacking substance and needs to pad her resume if she ever wants to run for POTUS.

Palin is out of it, her choice, and I believe nothing will get her back in.
Perry, unfortunately has been bashed to political death by purported 'conservatives' - proving that far too many who claim conservatism are ill informed political idiots.
I agree with the author of this piece - Perry has the right mix of personal Christian beliefs and laudable executive experience. But with Perry out of the race we have only second and third-best candidates with greater flaws and bad-baggage than Perry to choose from.
We now face the very real possibility that Obama will remain in office, quite simply because Romney will most likely - at this point - be the nominee. Romney will cause enough 'conservatives' to revolt that the GOP will lose another election.

I’m starting to see polls regarding Palin’s
electability should she run. Gives me goose bumps.

Palin’s my write-in in any case. Then I’ll say a prayer and conduct one more weapons check.

Yeah, she needs to rack up a lot of meaningful accomplishments during 8 years in the Senate, just like Obama did. /s

"...get out there and campaign..." Been doing that, sending money, praying, talking to friends, writing letters, going door to door.
I'm not giving up unless he does.

If enough people write her in during the primaries then maybe just maybe there is still hope.Ike was convinced by the American people to run when he had not wanted too.
Prayer and weapons check here as well.

Palin is A LOT MORE POPULAR among conservatives than is generally thought.
She always was - just the PDS are/were constant and louder here (displaying their emotional hangups and insecurities) - as well as the GOP elite. Mommy Bush supported mitt openly and trashed Sarah openly, mitt/rove behind the scenes. There is no mistake - there are more "WeThePeople" type than there are those who want things status quo - they just want/demand more 'air' time.

But with Perry out of the race Perry is not out of the race.
