HONOLULU — President Barack Obama paid his respects at Pearl Harbor on Thursday, offering a solemn tribute to the thousands of Americans killed on the “date which will live in infamy.”
The president swapped his casual vacation outfit for a dark suit as he and the first lady toured the memorial on his first visit to the site since he came here in late 2008 as president-elect.

My niece and her husband are stationed at Pearl Harbor.
She told me the commander asked for volunteers to escort that family, not one person volunteered....so he gave orders for escorts.

Lemme guess! He bowed and scraped and apologized to the Japanese people and Emperor for ear damage caused to Japanese pilots flying overhead when American ships suddenly blew up below them.
