The crazed gunman dressed in a Santa suit who gunned down two families while they were opening their presents on Christmas morning was the father and estranged husband of three of his victims.
Aziz Yazdanpanah, who had separated from his wife in March, is believed to have opened fire at an apartment in Grapevine, Dallas - just after the family opened their gifts - before turning the gun on himself.
Just hours before the families were killed, the group had thrown a large Christmas Eve party at their ranch. Dozens of friends and relatives celebrated late into the night, according to WFAA8.com.
Friends say Yazdanpanah, 56, likely showed up unexpectedly the next morning as he had not been invited to the party.
The victims have been identified as Nasrin Rahmaty, 55, the wife of the gunman, who worked at a nearby salon.
The couple's two children were also killed. Friends say Nona Yazdanpanah, 19, was a student at Tarrant County Community College and her brother, Ali, 15, was a student at Colleyville Heritage High School.
Yazdanpanah also killed his sister-in-law's family. Zohreh Rahmaty, 58, who was Nasrin's sister, and her husband, Hossein Zarei, 59. Their daughter Sahra Zarei, 22, was also shot.

>>Which of the two of us is ignoring both the empirical evidence of their per capita violence, and the view that comes from the study of their scripture?
That would be you.
I began studying what the Quoran and Hadith actually teach in 1979.<<
The accursed qu’uran has nothing to do with this event. It has nothing to do with my post. It has nothing to do with facts available at the time this article was written.
You should put your head on backwards so you don’t trip with your backpedaling.
I can’t imagine an idiot like you actually learning, much less teaching anything. I assume this is another invented fact.
>> Your attempt at a defense is as embarrassing as the posts themselves.
Like I give a crap if you’re embarrassed.
Go ahead and continue weeping on your sleeve, but your concern for the victims of violence is not per-eminent to the FReepers you castigate.
Hopefully I’ll see you speak up on the next thread that involves ‘honor killing’.
pre-eminent
Calling me an apologist is a laughable leap made by a mind unable to properly deal with an opinion that might be contrary to yours. I feel sorry for you that you have to compartmentalize someone’s rational opinion into a “box” that is to be discarded rather than refuted without some form of insult.
As for the “honor killings”, that is theory right now, not fact. It seems you believe the media when it tells you what you want to hear and likely rail against it when it doesn’t. The guy was bankrupt and separated from his family. That’s always been enough for murder-suicide to occur with natural born citizens, why not here? Did you express the same concern when Mark Meeks, Ervin Lupoe, Steven Suepple, William Parente and Bruce Pardo (who dressed as Santa Claus) gunned down their family? Jealousy and disapproval of others behaviors occurred in those cases as well. It was just that this guy was Muslim so you pounced because it’s easy to blame it on that and not the financial problems, the separation, etc.
The problem is, that if every time something happens with a muslim involved, our side rails against Islam from the outset, our opinion becomes less well regarded. This was a domestic issue not unlike so many other sad ones of the recent past.
>>Like I give a crap if youre embarrassed.<<
I meant an embarrassment TO YOU (but FR suffers as well).
>>Hopefully Ill see you speak up on the next thread that involves honor killing<<
Your post said nothing about honor killing to begin with. You said Christians were under attack. If you aren’t embarrassed then you’re not paying attention.
You’re just a bad person — own up to it.
I didn’t realize you were a woman. Disregard my previous posts.
Hurts to get busted in an open forum doesn’t it?
All you have left is little boy taunts. But that isn’t surprising, since your original post was also that of a little boy.
