The US is uniquely tied to Israel, more so than any other country. These ties are philosophical, religious, historical and demographic. They will not be easily eroded.
Tom Friedman is to factual journalism and true foreign policy scholarship what Lady Gaga is to classical music. He’s a pop culture guy, with as much credibility as the guy trying to sell kitchen knives on TV.
This, by the way, is how you eventually defeat the left. Characterize them accurately for what they are, which is to say, point out how little they know. Those on the left tend to take themselves very seriously. That is one of their greatest weaknesses.

Im Tirtzu's reports were based on an analysis of course syllabi at all university departments and they concluded that there was a clear far left ideological bias inherent in course materials. Pro-Israel and non-hostile books and research were almost entirely absent from the curricula, they alleged....the department's faculty is dominated by anti-Zionists. It charged that nine out of 11 permanent faculty members were involved in "radical left-wing" political activities and that six signed a letter supporting refusal to serve in the IDF.
This is exactly what the Long Marchers have been doing in the United States, without even a scintilla of any realization among other academics that they are dealing with a political cabal, one intimately connected to a political movement that has murdered scores of millions.
The most intelligent, best-educated people in the United States have failed to detect the presence among them of the very deadliest.

I’ve never quite understood why leftist students on campuses feel free to disrupt any speaker whose views they don’t hold, but conservative students don’t correspondingly protest leftwing speakers who abound on campus. Maybe the conservatives could start with Friedman on an upcoming college address, and build up from there. It might ultimately put a stop to that nonsense.
