Gingrich not alone in views on judges
Charlotte Observer ^ | Dec 25, 2011 | By Greg Stohr, Bloomberg News

Can't post Bloomberg, but they say others also have plans that would challenge balance of power, including Perry, Bachmann and Paul. Not surprisingly, Romney seems to be about the only one willing to go along with the status quo. Wouldn't want to rock the boat or cause a constitutional crisis. As a true blue establishment RINO, he'd rather just play it safe and go along with the liberal activists.

Funny. I thought we were already immersed in an Obama inspired constitutional crisis. Romney doesn’t want to resolve it?

George says Obama would possibly ignore the law if healthcare ruled against. First of all the courts aren’t independent anymore. Second they make rulings for their own self interests and their buddies and the healthcare law is illegal to begin with being passed without our knowledge.

I will be eternally grateful for the person that throws people like Pelosi, Reid, Holder; Obama in jail.

Well, discounting Paul, since any plans of his also involve rolling
over and exposing our throats and those of our allies to the wolves...

If the Republicans get a 2/3 majority in the Senate, I support impeaching all federal judges appointed by Carter, Slick Willie and Zero, just on general principles!

The “balance of power” is out of balance.

On a liberal comment site I visit, they were all ridiculing Newt’s position on the courts and I said that Newt did well to remind us all that the Supreme court is simply “supreme” amongst courts, they’re not supreme amongst the co-equal branches of government. They all disagreed with me.

The people need to be educated.

Did you point out to them that if 0bama ignores a SCOTUS ruling that goes against 0bamaCare he will be doing exactly what Newt is talking about?

Gonna have to give Newt credit on this one, I definitely agree withhim about rogue judges and arresting them.

I know a lot of people thought his statement was radical, but I think we have given these people too much power as a society, and it is high time to take it back.

At this time, I am still in favor of allowing judges in criminal justice applications, but that’s it.

Many rulings clearly contravene the Constitution.

Quite right. It is so bad, even some Freepers cannot get their minds around the core of Newt's argument:

"This NEWT 2012 campaign document serves as political notice to the public and to the legislative and judicial branches that a Gingrich administration will reject the theory of judicial supremacy and will reject passivity as a response to Supreme Court rulings that ignore executive and legislative concerns and which seek to institute policy changes that more properly rest with Congress. A Gingrich administration will use any appropriate executive branch powers, by itself and acting in coordination with the legislative branch, to check and balance any Supreme Court decision it believes to be fundamentally unconstitutional and to rein in any federal judge(s) whose rulings exhibit a disregard for the Constitution. The historical and constitutional basis for this position is outlined in this paper."

It is beyond me how anyone who bothers to acquaint himself Gingrich's position on judicial supremacy will maintain that Gingrich is an establishment Republican. Nevertheless, we will read it in the very next thread.

He'll sell the nation out to GANG-GREEN EnvironMentalists just as Nixon, Dubya's daddy and Dubya did. Such a sell-out will shift the balance of power right back to the judicial branch where it is today and will have accomplished nothing!!!

I too agree with his stand on re-balancing the three branches of government, but the incestous system of EnvironMental attorneys being able to bring enviro suits to stop everything, then hold up private sector and even public sector jurisdictions and even get court ordered legal fees whether they win or lose, or just settle even when they never had a case in the first place is futile unless President Gingrich is willing to secure legislation to stop this assult on justice in America!!!

And if that occurs, the same leftists commenting at the site will think it just fine and dandy even thought they think opposing the courts is "undemocratic". It's only when someone who leans to the right does it that it becomes a "crime against humanity". They have relegated themselves to livestock status - happy to exist at the pleasure of the government. They just can't comprehend the natural progression...

These progressive federal judges have been running wild for decades. Its going to take a significant jerk on the reins to get them back into line with the constitution. They will not do it willingly.
