Aha. Now we are learning something. The address check was done by computer. For the first time. The result: *ALL* candidates who applied for certification were rejected (Romney and Ron Paul were grandfathered in from 2008).
Its a process problem. Could be due to an overly-strict address match algorithm. For example if your actual street address is 1234 N Main St but you wrote down 1234 Main you got rejected. Romney and Paul were grandfathered in from 2008? !!!
Computer database will reject even the smallest error. Right.

And how about the errors involved in transferring the name and address from the handwritten petition form to the computer database entry - done by OCR, people, how?
