Hundreds turned out to wait in line for a pair of shoes.
SkyFOX aerial cams showed lines of people wrapped around athletic stores near Northline Mall.

I had a black lady approach me in the grocery store a couple of weeks back and asked if I’d let her pay for my groceries with food stamps and give her the cash in return.
I would have said sure then check out pay with the food stamps and say thank you to the black lady and walk out of the store.
I remember back in the early 70’s I saved enough money and bought a pair of Puma’s for $25. My parent’s thought I was crazy. That was when everyone was wearing Converse’s for $10.
EBT Cards replaced food stamps a long time ago.
With food stamps the lowest “stamp” was $1. People would go in, buy a package of Ramin with the $1 stamp and get 82 cents in real change. do that a few times and then take all the change and buy malt beer, wine or booze. Plus the stigma of using the cards.
The EBT card looks just like a credit card and has an American flag on it.
I’d like to see HHS out there pulling Food Stamp people out of line...... not gonna happen.
At my son’s high school, there is a trend that I just find plain weird and stupid. “Retro” Jordans can go (on Ebay) for $500 dollars. Yes, five hundred dollars. I can’t remember the exact model but they are the first year of them. Here is the crazy part IMHO: some of these kids have purchased USED retro Jordan for $250 - $300. Some other person’s feet have been in them. We’re not talking about someone else trying them on for size. We’re talking about them being worn for an extensive period of time. Ewwww!
I never wait for the “opportunity” to buy something either 9barring a food line when my wife is hungry at the fair or some other activity), but I find it telling that folks consider sneakers to be a status symbol worth the wait. I don’t pay $200 for a good pair of dress shoes. My sneakers usually come from Wal-Mart - $200 will keep me in sneakers for years.
Wonder how many of these thugs have a job??? Other than that Obama military for in nee city kids??
I’m from Chicago and I remember being in grade school in the 90s, I never had a pair of Jordan’s although I always wanted a pair growing up. Whenever and I mean whenever we went into the city on field trips you better believe that every welfare grabing scumbag and thug and their kids wore Jordan’s, and I always wondered how they were able to afford them, now years later I know how.
People are such morons.
Probably all on welfare. I remember in Yonkers when you drove by the projects there were Mercedes all parked out front.
It's not pretty. What a scene they'll make as they get all up in there.
People get killed for fancy shoes in the hood.
Ah.
Wasn’t aware.
I know!
The guy hasn’t played basketball in over 10 years and is almost 50 or something.
Yet these supposedly poor people have the time and money to line up in the cold for a pair of shoes that wont last a year.
and I bet the vast majority of these people are on one form of government assistance or another....
The only “must have” product I ever impatiently anticipated was the release of windows XP to repair the hideously unstable windows ME.
Shoe fashion is important to Holder’s people.
The current nike air jordan page although not too much Michael anymore. Mostly other players. Almost all the styles are still ugly as they ever were.

It used to be caddilacs, now its Air Jordans.
Cadillac is coming out with THE AIR JORDAN DTS. The good news is that if you drive one, the police will never give you a foul, er, I mean ticket.
