There is no other path to rationality, evolution having been overwhelmingly debunked over the past few decades.
***Is it rational to believe in God?***
Let’s ask God.
The better question is, “Is it rational not to believe in God?”
Somebody had to create “spontaneous creation” AND gravity. Who?!
Is it rational not to?
It’s turtles all the way down.
Better question is whether it is rational to believe in causeless effects.
Does it make any sense that a bunch of matter from a big bang, swirled together into a primordial goo and sprouted life?
Where the heck did the matter come from?
No, not unless you see that just about everything in nature has intelligent design. Then it's rational to believe in God.
What's most difficult is not necessarily believing in the existence of a Creator, but in His plan of reconciliation with man by the grace of one, Jesus Christ. His free gift of forgiveness and reconciliation with a perfect God is very hard indeed to rationalize, because it doesn't compute in man's mind that requires justification for wrongs. I kind of think that's the stumbling block with people.
Merry Christmas Hawking. Enjoy your mental masturbation, alone...
Read and listen--really listen--to what Yeshuah said.
Take some time to take everything he said to heart. If you don't walk away believing in the power and the truth of his statements...you will be quite different from most humans.
Yeshuah tells us the Truth...it is self evident. A world based on things not told by Yeshuah is not a world that has any appeal...it is not a world that works (there is no justice...no right or wrong).
Is faith required? Yes. Is faith a gamble? Yes.
Is faith in God and Yeshuah the Hinge...that thing on which the universe hangs.
Dig into it and see for yourself.
And be rational and empirical about it. Go at it like your eternity depends on it.
Psalm 53 KJV
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
I have a Nephew who has two PHDs, one in Cosmology and the other in Physics. He is a grad of the University of Chicago.
I recall at a family gathering, he was discussing famous scientists such as Teller, Einstein and Hawking. He said among physicists Hawking is considered just another smart guy. If he had not overcome such a terrible handicap, he would not be known just on his ideas.
yes. it is irrational to believe in man-made gorebul warming. given a belief in God is a belief in faith without scientific proof, environmentalism is a religion. or, if you believe in man-made gorebul warming you believe in the tooth fairy (because santa claus is real)
It is as irrational to dismiss an unprovable belief as it is to embrace it.
I’m Stephen Hawking, and I do not believe that God exi...
C:/WINDOWS/system32/services.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Windows is shutting down.
Senseless gibberish.
Who, or what created that gravity? The "law" of gravity? The universe with the power to create itself from nothing?
If there is nothing there is no universe. How then can a universe create itself from nothing?
Either way you look at it, faith is required.
Either you have faith in God or you have faith that the magnificence of the universe and the wonder of life are the result of cosmic accident, with worlds whirling and ricocheting around the universe like steel balls in a Newtonian pinball machine run amok.
That is a really smart set of people there. Maybe when they are frying in Hell, with Sadam, Osama, Khadafi, Hitler, Stalin, FDR, Pelosi, Harry Reid, et al, they can prove that Hell really doesn’t exist.
