Of possible to your list.
Goes along with a shortage of wise men.
Sounds like a business opportunity. Plenty of desert area in Southern Californis and the land can be had cheaply.
Myrrh? Plenty to go around.
Cue the little drummer boy
Real frankincense is very nice stuff. Not the frankincense-flavored incense, as much, but the actual raw product is wonderful.
Chicken Little has been called out of retirement and is in make-up now, preparing for snother walk on.
“Real frankincense is very nice stuff...”
What does it smell like? Is it sweet smelling or musky? (I have never smelled it before)
If the trees were to disappear, it would be a great loss to the local people who rely on profits made on the resin produced from the trees. Then the local people should take steps to ensure the trees' survival. Unless I missed something, everything that's threatening them comes from people's actions. Surprisingly enough, global warming doesn't seem to be the cause of the problem. (I was really expecting that to be blamed.)
You said,”Surprisingly enough, global warming doesn’t seem to be the cause of the problem. (I was really expecting that to be blamed.)”
Hmmm... it kinda was in a roundabout way:
Last sentence of the article:
“Bongers said it is very possible that climate change is affecting these trees. He currently has a research project underway and hopes to have an answer within two years.”
A few years and a few tens or hundreds of thousands of grant dollars should result in a definite 'maybe' regarding climate change's effects.
H’mmm I could make a comment about a certain minnesota senator being the cause of this == but he doesn’t have any sense
One more thing I'll have to start hoarding.
The Catholic church needs it. If you start a business, we’ll help.

Frankincense can be bought on the side of the road in Yemen. It is used as chewing gum — doesn’t taste like chiclets but it leaves a pleasant odor in the mouth.
I have several hundred acres in Texas, wonder if I could plant a bunch of these. Might make the grandkids a nice bit of money some day.
I saw that and thought “No”, that’s just an excuse.
Myrrhy Christmas!
