Your theory falls apart because Rasmussen polls likely voters and now also shows a rise in Hussein's approval - up to 49% today which is exactly where CNN and Wapo have him.
The Republicans bungled this. They actually snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. We got the Keystone language, we removed the millionaire surtax offset, and for some reason House Republicans chose to embark on a fight they couldn't win. Were House conservatives correct on the merits of the fight? Yup. But they'd already lost the political battle when the majority of Republican senators had already voted for the deal and skipped town. Either Boehner made the deal with McConnell and Reid and didn't actually have the votes, or House Republicans got blowback from constituents and chose to dig in and fight a losing battle which was always going to end in them caving. The stupid party rides on!
Cap and Trade didn’t pass? 0bama bypasses Congress and people think he’ll be re-selected?
“Some small businesses electricity rates will rise more than 30 percent in January”
snip
“Schodorf Truck Body in Franklinton will see its annual electricity costs rise by 35 percent, which is about $7,000. Its one of those things that will cost jobs, said co-owner Paul Schodorf, speaking of its effect on small businesses.”

This illustrates the old ploy of getting the choo-choo going and the wana joiners will just hop on. It can be very successful with easily led people especially those who get a free meal during the ride.
David Rodham Gergen and CNN are credible because?
We can criticize Boehner and the house Pubbies but really the way the press covered this there was no way to win this thing. We had better get used to this as this agreement guarantees this will come up every few months.
They would have covered Kennedy’s accident like Teddie was helping a Chappaquiddick girl in trouble.
my question is: “why didn’t the senate Republicans demand a 1 year extension, as the House passed.” to my thinking, that would have put Reid and Obimie on the defensive in wanting to vote against a 1 year extension.
You’re right, I hadn’t seen Rasmussen today.
All week I’ve been hearing the usual suspects going on about CNN & NBC.
Rasmussen has always been as close or closer than anybody else in election polling, so I’m not going to impugn him now.
But even he’s got some touchy numbers in there—50% of respondents overall disapprove, and even 50% of ‘independents,’ most of whom are Democrats too ashamed to admit it.
And I saw that even on CNN/NBC the numbers drop on Obama when you get to separate issues, leadership, jobs, etc.
I agree with you that the Republicans misplayed this one. But this little stink is going to be forgotten long before the fall election.
I only hope they learned enough not to dig another sh!tpit for themselves over the next 10 months.
Good question. But basically, this is another set-up by the RATS to hurt the people and blame the PUBS for it.
That isn’t winds shifting towards nobama...It is the American people farting in his general direction (my apologies to Monty Python). Merry Christmas!
Gergen supported Obama in 2008 and called McCain a racist for even his minor soft attacks
