It’s becoming increasingly clear. Obama is nothing more than a hatemonger.

After it passes, the media will tell us about the horrible under-funding for Social Security and how stupid it was to support a pay-roll-tax-cut

At two months, isn’t it more like $180? I know, what a waste of time, fact-checking American media.

With most lawmakers gone for the holidays, President Obama took full advantage of the empty stage, appearing with everyday Americans to make the case that House Republicans need to relent and pass a payroll tax cut extension that would mean an extra $1,000 a year to a typical family.

Is this reporter an idiot or just a liar? Republicans in the house are holding up the TWO-MONTH extension -- not the 1-YEAR extension that "would mean an extra $1,000 a year..." House Repubs are actually trying to get the Senate to pass the one that would add up to that amount.

Unbelievable idiot reporter or liar reporter -- take your pick.

For practical purposes, $1,000 a year is nothing. It is $19.23 a week, probably less then the average libtard spends on soy lattes.

I took a 5% pay cut a couple years ago that added up to far more than that and still managed to live on what I earned. I wouldn’t miss the “tax cut” from Social Security either.

Someone should tell our bungler-in-chief that approving more drilling/pipelines, etc., gas prices alone will save EVERY average American over $2,000 a year and not just those working.

The Stupid American public does not understand that this Social security tax cut is being directly added to the national debt. Technically the debt has to be paid back. So it is really a loan, and not a cut.

On another note, the republicans are being gullible again. They just sit and let the leftist squabble about how this is going to mean $1000.00 less a year in the American pay check.

There is a very effective counter to this. Just tell the American public that SS is in the red, and that the “Fund” is going to go broke and grandma and grandpa are going to have to do without social security(or take a huge cut) because the democrats are stealing all the money that should be going into it.

That will shake things up for the democrats.

appearing with everyday Americans No not so. Everyday Americans are the majority of this country. He doesn't have the big brass ones to even consider talking to us.

Did these people walk to DC or did Obama have us pay to fly them there? Or was it a very short walk from their offices in the OEOB to the stage?

Both. He works for the LAT. That also means he would lick Obama’s shoes if told to.

Meanwhile, the average family spent over $5,000 in additional fuel/driving costs and G-d knows what on increased food, electricity and other costs. It would take eliminating ALL taxes to help the average working family.

Oh, and by extending this for 2 months is only going to make passing a REAL budget impossible next March.

If they killed us all and took all our stuff it still wouldn’t be enough.

"appearing with everyday Americans to make the case that House Republicans need to relent and pass a payroll tax cut extension that would mean an extra $1,000 a year to a typical family." <--- isn't this a bold face lie? No one is saving 1000.00 if this is only for 2 months.

Meanwhile, its a minority of two - Harry Reid and Obama - refusing to reconvene the Senate to work out a compromise with the House of Representatives.

Second point: The “gain” from the tax holiday - not a tax-cut - of every dollar for everyone who pays the “payroll tax” is a loss to the Social Security administration, it’s “trust fund” and the revenue it depends on for current and future Social Security benefits.

Every cent of this tax holiday will have to be paid back to the Social Security administration directly, from general revenues, or general revenues themselves will become a permanent part of funding Social Security, turning it into a welfare program and not a retirement system.

From the start, the GOP should have never allowed this understanding to be left out of ALL their public statements on this issue.

Its a “tax holiday” not a “tax cut” and its taking money that needs to be paid to Social Security.

Obama, and the “payroll tax cut” might provoke the end of Social Security as it is today:

Could someone run the numbers on what the Obama administration’s energy policies are costing the average American family? I’ll warrant it’s a fair bit more than $1000/year.

This "tax cut" is just bankrupting the social security system. Plan on massive treasury bond sales to plug the gap. Inflation? No. Currency collapse? Yes.

...”Some of the people who wrote in stood behind him”....

I am flabbergasted (now, there’s a word that dates me.....) that any thinking American would stoop so low, and have so little self-esteem, that he or she would appear at this propaganda exercise with Obama. I cannot imagine it! These people are willing to let this usurper fraud use them, for political purposes, like $40 dollar whores. And the sob stories! I am astounded.....
