Does anyone really believe that any Rep will reverse this policy? I strongly disagree with the policy, but this issue is a distraction in the runup to the general election. The courts have become involved and the service chiefs including the Chariman of the Joint Chief of Staff have supported it. And I bet that public polls will show the majority of Americans support the policy, especially younger voters. It would be counterproductive to make this a big issue during the election campaign. Theer are bigger fish to fry.

Until we can show that the policy is hurting operational readiness, recruitment, and retention, it is far better to fight this battle as a later date.

I may not agree with the policy but it appears there to stay. But just because gays get to serve openly doesn’t mean they get a pass on acting professionally in and out of uniform, or get to be cowards in the face of nation’s enemies.

If you are going to be queer in the military, you better be a card carrying killer of men queer. Our very safety and soveriegnty demands it.

This is the bell weather issue. There is no issue that exemplifies what is wrong. It was and is the big fish. Any candidate that ran on this issue would energize the base and ruffle the establishment like no other. They would win. Too bad that won't happen.

Don't forget that just recently the Congress gave full approval of the military endorsing bestiality. Apparently our military has gone native with the goat herders in AF.

I have long added the US military to the growing list of entities that are a mortal danger to our Republic.

It wouldn't break my heart if the military budget was slashed to one fifth of what it is now. The local PDs have enough fire-power now to totally pacify the domestic front, and our military hasn't acted in the US's best interest now for at least a generation. (witness our border)

Santorum would. As for the rest of the field, you're right, probably not.

But this is one key reason why I'm for Santorum. Electing him means real change.

Newt said he will ignore courts (I don’t know if it would be on this issue - but it could). Admirals & Generals serve at the pleasure of the POTUS. If they are pro-homo, they can be relieved without any recourse. Nope, I think this is an issue to take a stand on right now. Newt told a homosexual the other day that he would be better off voting for Obama. That sends a strong message to me.
