NEWT - THE FEAR FACTOR
American Thinker ^ | December 21, 2011 | Arnold Cusmariu

Posted on 12/21/2011 11:40:08 AM PST by true believer forever

Gingrich's alleged "baggage" and doubts about his electability don't fully explain why, despite his high standing in the polls, the GOP establishment has been shunning the former Speaker of the House, when not showing outright hostility toward him...

The current Speaker of the House, John Boehner, must be considered a prominent opponent, behind the scenes so far. Boehner, it will be recalled, led the rebellion to remove Gingrich from his post as Speaker back in 1998...

Boehner is hardly alone in fearing a Gingrich presidency. A true insider, Gingrich knows who among his fellow politicians (from his day and since) stands for what -- the real deal not the sort of palaver politicians offer up when they are on their best behavior on TV for the sake of keeping up appearances knowing that it's on the record and that constituents are watching...

HE'LL MAKE JOHN BOEHNER CRY LIKE A BABY GIRL.

with a special shout-out to Tom I-changed-my-vote-in-the-middle-of-the-night-on-the-food-safety-bill-because-I-figured-the-republican-base-was-too-stupid-to-notice Coburn,

aka barack's bestest-ever repubican friend.

Plus the fact, Newt knows where all the bodies are buried in DC... Don't give up 2 weeks is an eternity!

Cool pic. But he’ll have to come up with something powerfully substantive to stop the downward trend.

Newt is not the answer to the challenges America and the world faces. America can only be the shining city on the hill if she returns to her constitutional roots.

Not going to hold my nose and vote for Newt or Mitt. Paul, Bachmann, or maybe Santorum.

No more compromise, no more pragmatism. Where has that gotten us. This is not the America we knew a generation ago.

Get a spine conservatives. Don’t let them scare you with any boogeymen. Insist on Constitutional Governance as our only hope.

Oh, gawd, this psychobabble is getting old.

How about for once people just accept that when you don’t like a guy or don’t think he should be President, you just don’t like the guy or don’t think he should be President.

It’s really not more complicated than that.

Sitting around psychoanalyzing the motives and thought processes of those with whom you disagree, rather than simply addressing the disagreement or dismissing it, is just embarrassing.

Good, then vote for King Obama since you seem to feel that way.

It’s not psychobabble - it’s explaining the motivations behind the republican establishment not supporting Newt. If they weren’t supporting YOUR candidate, you would surely make sure the reasons why they didn’t were known... I don’t consider it embarrassing, either, it is a legitimate area of discussion. And maybe you could try to keep the condescension out of your post when you are addressing me. thank you.

Read the article. This was a political analysis. And a pretty good one.

How is it that the article at the link lists Arnold Cusmariu
as the author, yet you list yourself as the author? Are you he?

“Don’t let them scare you with any boogeymen.”

Paul’s foreign policy positions scare me more than any boogeyman.

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you release the severity of circumstances.

Maybe that is what has to transpire.

As for your suggestion... as repugnant as that is, maybe that is what it is going to take before we have a real path back towards our roots.

Or maybe you would rather I said: oooh nooo please anybody but Obama... Please give me Newt or Mitt. Isn’t going to happen. Fool me once and all that...

Thank you very much for the info but I’m not sure the Obama group has any room for Constitutionalists.

I’ve stated my priciples, what are yours?

Romney, Paul, and Bachmann ganging up on Newt are going to give us nominee Romney and a repeat of the 2008 election.

I hope you can hold your nose for 4 more years while Obama finishes his second term because your strategy is exactly what the Rats are hoping for.

“the GOP establishment has been shunning the former Speaker of the House, when not showing outright hostility toward him”

WTF?

Newty IS the GOP establishment.

Unless they’re now trying to call the TEA PARTY “GOP establishment”.

You might ask Admin Moderator to change it.

I don't imagine it's such a big deal if it was just a mistake.

He was persistent and consistent, and kept it up and kept it up, and by 1994, he was the newly elected Speaker, with a Republican majority.” – Dick Cheney, Vice President.

“He made an indelible mark that literally changed the course of the United States.” – Congresswoman Michelle Bachman. 2008

NARAL said..Former Speaker Newt Gingrich said that he would support “personhood” legislation, which would ban abortion and could outlaw in-vitro fertilization and several common forms of birth control.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani slammed Mitt Romney as an unelectable flip-flopper, and said Newt Gingrich, whom he compared to Ronald Reagan, offers Republicans the best shot at unseating President Obama.
