Ok fair enough here’s my background, I’m from a military family both my grandparents flew B-24’s over Europe, and I’m related to the Eisenhower family. I myself have 6 years of study at secondary school, in spite of the liberals around me. I somehow survived that still intact.
I said nothing about Iran but since you brought it up, I don’t think they matter, we have 1,000’s of nukes, Israel has hundreds, they so far have 0. And even if they had 1 they don’t have the 1,000’s the USSR had pointed at us, and let’s theorize a little more say they use it and we respond, then Russia responds, MAD. It would be suicide for Iran to do that, does Iran want to commit suicide, you seem to think they are eager to exterminate themselves, why? Islam alone can’t explain something so extreme, it just seems unlikely that anyone would want to see all their family exterminated no matter what they believe. Occam’s Razor the simplest explantion usually contains the correct answer, have you ever studied game theory extensively?
Also to answer your point about “vows” to commit war, that seems like a poor use of the word, you mean declare probably. I don’t think they have “declared war” on anyone as of this moment right now, if you think so then where are all the invading troops and tanks and planes, etc? An ounce of action’s worth a ton of theory.
I’m not familiar with privatizing the military or letters of Marq, feel free to elaborate upon that or point me to something about it, I’m not searching at the moment but will look it up latter, hard to have an opinion about that since I have not studied that idea much. We have contractors galore already and they didn’t leave Iraq.
Some bases maybe are overkill and should be closed, all those bases really couldn’t prevent terrorism from coming to the US before so why would they have any effect now? That kind of thinking of occupying the world appears offensive to other nations, why not have Russian bases and Chinese bases in every state to protect the banking and global corporate interests?, why would where they come from matter to a Multinational Corporation?, just so long as they defend those interests. I’m not for this and would be greatly offended if UN or Russian or Chinese troops built up bases in every state in the USA, so ergo it makes sense that people in these other countries that are not at war with us might find extra judicial immunity for Americans in bases in their countries a little bit offensive, we seem basically above the law to them.
I don’t care about that Bradley kid, as far as I can tell he was doing what he thought was right, taxpayers pay for all these secrets and then maybe get treated like children that cannot decide elections based on facts but only what the Liberal Media presents to us, Americans should know what people do and lie about in our name to other societies, if someones lies in your name don’t you think you have a right to confront them or know about it? Being in the dark about reality serves nobody other than those that profit from secrets and darkness it seems to me. He seems not a hero and not a traitor, he just did what the media has not the guts to do itself, a bunch of spineless liberal weasels that they have become.
You think that it would be rigged in Paul’s favor, did it ever occur to you that maybe the FBI were rigging it in their favor? The government’s favor, that being for a candidate that supports more war, more violation of the constitution, etc and maybe could you wonder that anything that exposes that corruption would be deemed a security threat, in other words not being the criminal gets you investigated at this point, not being for the darkness or secrecy gets you thrown in the slammer with Manning. Ergo NDAA. Pretty soon it will be a crime “not” to depend on the government.
You maybe mean to say, it does not appear to me that the government selects candidates in the primaries. So you mean it seems that the voters or Pual “hackers” will select them then? That seems absurd that his group would or could hack this and more smoke and mirrors, accusations that can not be proven nor investigated cause the media lacks the brainpower to dig deeply, we shall see though. The fact a sitting governor tells people in his state to ignore his states primary selection says more about corruption than anything else. It maybe fine to have an opinion but to try and say it doesn’t matter seems kind of kooky(though history has shown that not winning Iowa does not mean one can’t win the primary, everybody just gets so emotional though over this thing), so that’s how they govern there in that state, who cares what the little people want.
One thing about a declaration of war that was pretty evident in reading the papers posted here from 1941. That one thing is that the President is granted virtually unlimited power during a declared war.
Ask yourself if you really want that?
On one hand it focuses the power of the country on the external threat. On the other, check out the Presidents we’ve had lately. Not exactly a group that installs confidence.
“He is an open border, Libertarian. He apparently has absolutely no idea what the goal of Islamofascism is really.
Amadjihad just wants a nuke so he can be RESPECTED. OMG, Paul is deranged.
Or does he think the Islamofascist are kidding when they chant death to America.”
All these things I know and accept. A great sacrifice may be required for a chance at liberty. besides Terrorist are predominantly going to go after targets mostly filled with liberals.
And our States can do much to provide us with a defense against both terrorist and illegal aliens. Its not like we are going to be completely defenseless.
God bless the military members in your family. Being from a military family means nothing if you don’t learn from them.
Israel and the US have never vowed to take Iran off the face of the earth as Iran has towards us. They powers in Iran don’t value this life. The are bent to bring back the twelfth Imadi at any cost. Suicide is fine. Don’t take my word for it. My friend who is Persian would tell you how stupid and dangerous it is to let Iran get the bomb.
Yes, I meant “vow”. But to your point of “declared”, not every instance of “declared war” means invading forces. Kuwait remained at war with Iraq til we went in. North Korea is still at war with the South.
Do a search and you’ll find that Paul is for issuing Letters of Marq. The practice hasn’t been done since at least the 1800s or earlier. It makes the military into privateers. Not a good thing.
Bases in various parts of the world make it quicker for us to respond to threats, and bolsters the local and national economies. Those that oppose it are the far Lefties. Case in point is the island (Viecas. I’m not sure of the spelling) off Puerto Rico that we used for naval target practice for years. The environmental wackos took great exception, staged protests, to which Donald Rumsfeld said fine. Once the jobs were going away, the locals were begging them to stay. We are not in these countries as occupiers, but by treaty, so your Russian/Chinese analogy doesn’t hold up.
The “Bradley kid” was a soldier sworn to protect the laws and Constitution of the US. Secrets are secrest for a reason. You wouldn’t want to disclose your social security number, bank account number, pin, and birthday would you? He should be shot.
Why is the FBI there? Where was the last rigged election in favor of a Republican? I never said anything about hackers. Paul’s supporters have a history of rigging straw polls. Buses of Paul supporters with paid entrance arrive at various places that hold straw polls.
Paul is not as vigorously for the Constitution as you would think. You’ve been duped, my friend.
I see you point but it seems to me they try and grab that power anyways with executive orders. Yes Lincoln and FDR were pretty brutal to critics during those wars and yes they interned the Japanese Americans in camps, but my understanding as I know it, we have been under emergency powers since before I was even born, long before 911 happened, what good did it really do to protect us, just pieces of paper, if anything it kept us more in the dark.
Patriot act, NDAA, pieces of paper with ink on them, how can a piece of paper protect anybody, to me that seems the great irony of all this legislation, 60,000 laws and not a person that understands any of it every year, some good all those laws have done us. It maybe as if someone thinks that crime and war and destruction will vanish with the stroke of a pen or the brandishing of a uniform and weapon ,what have all these bombs and laws got us... $17 trillion in the hole, we’re broke and yet somehow if we only make more laws and bomb more places then it will magically get better? To me the simplest answer maybe to stop policing the world and cut the budget to play another day on the global stage, otherwise we run the risk of being owned by the Chinese and others, as well as have to sell National assets just to keep up with the interest on the debt.
Bases in other countries seems like nation building liberalism to me.Yeah great it gives jobs to people in other countries, I'm sure the unemployed love hearing that one.
If a state official or diplomat lies and causes forces to be used in a war I think that maybe something we should know about, I guess Manning had the guts to put his life where his words were and thought he was doing the right thing, most people would not risk their lives to expose corruption, most people are cowards.
The only people that have been duped seems to me the liberals in the Republican party that want business as usual to continue, contracts to be fulfilled and liberalism to spread itself ever further across the globe.
He opposed the Civil Rights Act? Great. That means he opposed one of the biggest expansions of federal power of all time.
The South unquestionably had a constitutional right to practice slavery under the Constitution. See the 3/5th clause, the fugitive slave cause, and the slave trade clause. See also the Dred Scott decision the Priggs decision and the fugitive slave acts of 1793 and 1850.
Bull. Well, thanks for stating your pro-slavery neo-confederate stance. I suppose you think the Nazis had the “right” to murder all their victims as well, eh?
Our Founders were very much against it, and wanted it stopped.
For example, legalizing pot sounds like anything from an ok idea to a wonderful idea to a majority of Americans. Unfortunately, the Constitutional arguments libertarians use also apply to ANY illegal drug. Therefore, if we use them to legalize marijuana, we eventually have to legalize heroin, crack and methamphetamine too. Likewise, if there are to be NO restrictions on the right to bear arms either, we have to make it legal for ANYONE to walk into a gun shop and buy a shoulder mounted anti-aircraft missle. Any we have to allow not just prostitution, but whorehouses next to churches and strip clubs next to schools. Libertarianism is a by the book (in this case the founding documents) society. This philosophy appeals to roughly ten percent of voters. It always has. They are the crazy people. They rest either agree with Abraham Lincoln, that the Constitution is not a suicide pact, or they just don't pay a lot of attention. These are the ones who like the idea of libertarianism in theory, but hate it the most in practice.
Leaving aside the fact that the MSM has ignored Ron Paul's little newsletter problem (which will destroy him when it becomes public), the more the average voter gets to know the full ramifications of libertarianism, the more he hates it.
“..the more the average voter gets to know the full ramifications of libertarianism, the more he hates it.”
I guess we’re going to find out if you’re right real soon. I stand by my earlier prediction; he gets 15-20% in the general as a 3rd party candidate. 25% if he’s real lucky. Not enough to win, but enough to cause plenty of grief for mittens.
And who said Ron Paul actually cares all that much about winning the election? I’m sure he’d prefer winning to losing, but I doubt that’s the primary motivator.
The “ban all religions..’ argument is a liberal one, based on the notion of equality. It is the basis of communism. I never stated anything about a ban, and you know it. We have the right to practice religion. But we also have the right to protect ourselves against people who would do us harm in the name of their religion. Your agnosticism fuels the anti-religion views.
Having a base in a host country at their request is not nation building. Do you think we are building South Korea, Germany, Japan, etc?
You still didn’t give me your social security, birthdate, full name, bank account number and pin. If Bradly did, would you still call him a hero? There are things that are need-to-know basis. Not everyone needs to know everything. BTW, tell me who lied to use forces in war, or was that hypothetical?
If you are calling me a liberal, then you couldn’t be farther from the truth. The Republicans are fighting for a full year of unemployment benefits rather than the 2 months the Dems want, they have 22 jobs bills in the House, etc. As for contracts, don’t you keep your word?
You've hit the nail on the head. That's exactly why conservatives see libertarians not just a a cancer on this website, but on the conservative party in general. While you goofballs engage in your political fantasyland, its left to the adults of us to worry about the difference between three more John Roberts on the Supreme Court versus three more Elena Kagens.
No matter how much I hate the idea of a president Mitt Romney, I will vote for him in the general election for that reason alone.
Nobody’s a hero, just an actor on a stage in the scheme of life, some people can be brought to the water to drink of the truth others simply will run away screaming like a crazy Muslim if given something they don't like to hear about. Your reluctance to understand why the data was released fuels your anger at him.
Getting back to banning things....if you think it's liberal to ban them then only the religions you prefer will get any traction and thus all others subject to your censorship, banning and eradicating, so either you drop all these band-aids or you pick one and ban the rest to promote your religion, otherwise they will compete against your religion, either you win and the rest lose, or we all win by not playing this game in the first place, people die everyday just to play this absurd game, it seems rather useless and pointless to me.
All that private information about me can be bought and sold very easily are you kidding? All I need would be your name and the rest can be found, we have no privacy, hence why I support someone such as Paul cause at the least bare minimum he seems pretty aware of this reality. Most people seem to have their heads in the clouds in terms of privacy. If you don't recall all the private names and details were redacted in the Wikileaks dumps.
Well, as public record shows no WMD’s were ever found in Iraq, they were either long disposed of or destroyed before we probably even invaded for our second tour of a DESERT surrounded by oilfields. I would like some answers wouldn't you?
We already did nation building, WW2 was fought(since you brought up japan and Germany) with the hopes to wipe out Europe and rebuild a more socialist utopia from scratch, wouldn't surprise me if that's in store for the USA as well. These wars and battles are very cynical moves and theater that seem more about stroking of egos than anything else, boomers were not the “greatest generation” so they have to invade every two-bit dictator they can find with resources they can find and basically run around with puffed out chest basically chanting “me too, me too, I can be like the great gen too!”. It looks rather weak to me, wars really happen between equals, we have just been in the business of overthrowing resource rich places to take their stuff while they take decades to recover from the events. While doing this overthrowing we have basically lost control of our financial system to such an extent that both parties are out of control looting the public at every chance they can get as if they know the trains gonna go off the tracks in the near future, maybe not but it sure seems to explain their behavior, with inner city collapse underway already, eventually that will spread along with the entitlement mentality as well, cause both sides go along with it for their preferred largess.
As for unemployment benefits I really have not been keeping track of this since I have not ever taken any of these despite not being a major part of the workforce for many years. None of these people plan and prepare so yes they fail and want all of us to bail them out, I really could care less, I don't want unemployment benefits I just prefer to be left alone thank you. You know prior to Hitler's takeover in Europe there were many private non-profit charities that basically closed up operation as a result of him promising to take care of everyone, he ruined what people already choose to do for themselves and took that dignity away from them, so much of what both parties have done over the past several years amounts to that, taking our dignity away from us and supplying their propaganda in replace of our self.
If memory serves, George Washington, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson were slaveowners, and the 3/5 clause, the fugitive slave clause, and the slave trade clause are found in the Constitution.
And no, “the Founders” didn’t reject slavery. Slavery was legal in every Southern state from Maryland to Georgia and would remain that way until the War Between the States.
And you support that?? Some conservative you are... I suppose you think Stormfront have credibility, too, eh??
I don’t buy any of your BS. BTW, the link on your homepage, Pat Buchanan?? seriously??? And what’s with that weird white-supremacist-like symbol???
(1) Yes, I do support the Constitution, which limited the power of the federal government, and reserved powers not delegated to the federal government to the people and the states.
(2) No, I do not reject George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison because they were slaveowners.
(3) Southerners are the conservatives in the this country. The Yankee has always been the force within the Union pushing the United States in the more liberal direction of consolidated government.
(4) Pat Buchanan is a great man.
(5) It is a reference to Charles Martel.
You are FOS. Thank you for outing you’re pro-slavery, white supremacist stance.
Now, begone, please. You’re stinking up FR. Back to the Stormfront forums.
