VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- A Navy tradition has caught up with the repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" rule on gays serving openly in the U.S. military. The Navy said two women shared the coveted "first kiss" Wednesday when the USS Oak Hill returned home to its Virginia base. Marissa Gaeta of Pacerville, Calif., descended from the ship and shared a quick kiss with her partner, Citlalic (SEET-lah-leek) Snell of Los Angeles. The crowd screamed and waved Navy flags around them. Both women are fire controlmen in the Navy. They met at training school and have been dating for two years. Naval officials said it was the first time on record that a same-sex couple was chosen to kiss first upon a ship's return.

Govt. working hard to normalize the perverse. Notice, they didn’t choose 2 hulking, hairy dudes or 2 masculine females. This was planned. It’s gradual, whether it’s this or friendly gay characters on television, the advertising is omnipresent and working to effectively change attitudes.
Can anyone remember, “stay out of our bedrooms!”? Even just a little? I didn’t think so.
It was, wasn't it? Remember leaving your doors unlocked? Keys in the car, even in the city? When I was little I wandered all over my neighborhood and the only thing I had to fear was the occasional inhospitable dog.
We had prayer and the Pledge in class. And America was much different, and better, back then.
We were blessed while it lasted.

Looking forward to when Zero is out of office (hopefully arrested and in prison shortly thereafter, and then deported to whatever country he's a citizen of) and everything he signed is made null and void. And mentally ill sex perverts can get out of the military and back into the closet.

The Senate recently voted to legalize sodomy, bestiality and also underage sex in the UCMJ. I think that’s the right acronym. And yes, bestiality. Darksheare has a link (I’ve pinged articles about it too) but I clicked it off already.
SO now it might be (if the House doesn’t vote against it which they better!) “Join the military and have fun with animals!”
Outraged ? Thank Ron Paul, one of the 5 RINOs who voted to repeal DADT.
The Ronulans are out of control on FR lately.
EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s not them.
It was a raffle.
I had the same suspicions. I was angry enough that I was going to do some checking and make some phone calls to people who would take action if it could be proven that the military was promoting acceptance of gay couples rather than just tolerating it. DADT may be gone, but DOMA is still in effect, and my Congresswoman was one of the people who successfully fought against allowing gay marriages at military installations in states where that would be legal off the installation.
However, based on the Virginian-Pilot news reports and the video posted by the newspaper with comments by the couple, it looks like what happened is this couple won a raffle to be first off the ship to kiss their wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend. They bought $50 worth of tickets in a fundraising raffle for a FRG (family readiness group). Apparently other couples bought even more tickets than they did, so it's not like they stacked the deck too badly.
I hate to say it, but after the repeal of “Don't Ask, Don't Tell,” I can't see how the commanding officers could do anything other than let the winning couple have the first kiss. They won a random chance raffle, the media were there anyway (as they would be for routine welcome home ceremonies — I'm going to one later this week) and the media didn't get notified this would be happening until minutes before it happened.
And yes, if something like this had happened at Fort Leonard Wood, I would have taken the same photos. The difference would have been that in addition to the “feel good” article that the Virginian-Pilot wrote, I would have done a separate article calling my Congresswoman for comment and speaking to advocates and opponents of homosexuals in the military, rather than running an article that ignores the fact that many people think this is a **REALLY** bad idea. Maybe the Virginian-Pilot did write such an article that I haven't yet seen; I hope so.
Unless someone can prove that this wasn't a random drawing but was deliberately planned, it looks like all the rules were followed. These two aren't married, few if any of us would be complaining if the first kiss was a heterosexual boyfriend meeting his girlfriend after coming back, and I can't see how their commander could have stopped this once they won the raffle without getting attacked for discriminatory treatment.
I'm a Calvinist. I don't believe in chance — God controls the casting of the lot. Pictures can be worth a thousand words, and maybe it's a good thing that this photo got taken to drive home in living color what President Obama has done to allow active homosexuals to enlist.
Unfortunately, even on Free Republic, some people have posted that they like seeing physically attractive lesbians kissing. If that's happening even here on an explicitly conservative forum, I'm afraid America's moral consensus has been broken so badly that the publication of this photo is going to cause Americans to revel in our shame rather than be called to repentance.
“Both women are fire controlmen”
Hahaha, both women are men! Isn’t language precious.
Publicity *unts.
I guess the one on the left is the man?

Fun with animals, everyone, and little children.
Repealing article 125 of UCMJ removes the punishments for diddling underage children.

You can click on the yes vote pie chart at least to see who voted for it without reading it.
If a sailor tried that today, he’d probably be brought up on charges of sexual harassment, in addition to hate crimes directed toward the recently defeated enemy.
Who the hell cares?
