Syrian's hold up sign for the world to see, which says "Obama's Procrastination kills us! We miss Bush's audacity. The world is better with America's Republicans."
"5,000 Syrians have been massacred by Bashar Assad since March, including 300 children. How are those sanctions workin out, Mr. Obama?"
Perfect. You know it’s bad when people start making signs to beg Americans to vote for Repubs. Tunisia wanting their Jewish Citizens to come home.
HUMMMMM, seems people are seeing the handwriting on the wall AND THEY DON’T LIKE WHAT IT SAYS.
I found the real one:
These people should be Time’s persons of the year.
Sorry. I disagree with you, Venturer.
There has to be a middle ground. I cannot and will not believe the only option available is to drop nuclear weapons for any issue that comes up.
We can agree that we cannot go into every country and try to fix their problems.
But I can’t agree that we cannot go into ANY country to try to fix a problem, especially when it bears directly on us as both Afghanistan and Iraq did.
Did we (and are we) doing everything right in those places? Of course not. I disagree with and am appalled by many of the things I have seen and heard, particulary those that seem driven solely by politics and political correctness.
But I am not willing to see our country get into a “bomb them all to oblivion” as a standard course of action.
Boy, no kidding. If Time wasn’t so laughable, it might be an issue to get worked up about. Last issue of Time I saw looked as thin as a cheap comic book, with less accurate or relevant content.
They, and publications like the NYT, are like cats that live too long, shedding all their fur and body weight in a clinging, futile attempt to stay alive and relevant.
Are they arguing that we should invade Syria?
Contrast this with the insincere POS occupying the White House right now.
Dear Syria: start directional drilling and we’ll be right over!
I don’t doubt that those people holding the banner are advocating for just that, but maybe a real punitive approach from the USA and real support for people like those holding the banner might be more palatable to them than Obama kissing the butt of Syrian tyrants while pretending he is against them.
Ha...may be...I would be happy to see even Canada start directional drilling on our Alaskan oil if it meant an increase in our supplies and a drop in our cost!
Because we sure as hell don’t seem inclined to take advantage of our own resources.
GWB made mistakes because he’s human.
He did what he thought best to protect his country because he’s an American first, and everything else second.
I can’t fault him for that. Nobody else stepped up to the plate. The man went GRAY overnight, right in front of us.
My beef with him is not sticking up for himself when the scum on the left slandered and libeled on a daily basis. But hey, when it comes to dealing with Muslim assh*les trying to get nuclear or biological weapons, versus infantile Democrat/liberal asswipes and their little buttmonkeys in the media, a man’s got to know his priorities, I guess.
He does.
He’s a good man, and I was never ashamed that he was my President.
More than I can say for what we have now temporarily residing in the WH...
“..These people should be Times persons of the year...”
Nah...then they’d join the ranks of such “prestigious” former Time Men of the year like Adolph Hitler...
They’re better off as they are.
“The World Is Better With America’s Republicans”...
Man...it just ROLLS out so, so, nicely, don’t it??
However, assuming it is real, they have better English punctuation skills than most college students. (Note the correct usage of the semicolon!)
It was worth the effort in Iraq. We had a strong national security and economic reason to do so.
This was the first time we had done something like this in the Middle East. (Iran pre-revolution doesn’t count) As an attempted alternative to completely demolishing the country, leaving the people to live in ruins, creating a vacuum for another tyrant and leaving us with a black mark, I think it was absolutely the right thing to do.
Regardless of how Iraq looks in one or ten years, we can be as proud of what we did in Iraq as we are of what we did in Japan and Germany after WWII. As an American, I am damned proud of that legacy, as we all should be.
If this doesn’t work in Iraq, history will not be able to say we didn’t do the right thing there, and possibly plant a seed for the rest of the Middle East. Granted, it doesn’t look that way, but as a nation, we can live with ourselves.
That is, of course, my opinion. I understand why people would disagree with it, but I feel pretty strongly about it.
“...If this doesnt work in Iraq, history will not be able to say we didnt do the right thing there, ...”
If it falls apart, it’s not because we didn’t do our job; it’s because those people there couldn’t stop hating each other long enough to maybe work together for just once, for the betterment of their own damned country.
They have a historic opportunity to NOT f*** everything up and maybe, just maybe, turn into some successful version of a country where the people actually get a chance to vote and have something good and decent for a while - and not have to worry about getting thrown into Chipper-Shredders for publically disagreeing with Saddam Hussein.
It’s on them, at the end of the day, I think.
Good point, I'm sure that was just a white sheet stretched out to dry in the sun......what happened to the original letters?
See #20
...and unlike his predecessors, he’s kept his mouth shut and retired in dignity. Kinda like his old man.......both class acts in my opinion.
