The American soldier alleged to have leaked vast numbers of classified documents to Wikileaks was prone to tantrums and at one point struck a female superior, a court heard today.
Captain Casey Fulton, an Army intelligence officer who worked in the same secure facility as 24-year-old Bradley Manning, described a violent outburst in May 2010 at their secure office or SCIF (Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility).
Fulton said she ordered a derogatory report against Manning, who is charged with downloading hundreds of thousands of sensitive files from the military's classified network when he was a U.S. Army intelligence analyst in Iraq, and providing them to the anti-secrecy website.
The U.S. Army Captain began answering questions at a proceeding to determine whether there was sufficient evidence to court-martial Manning, who is accused of conducting the largest leak of classified documents in U.S. history.
Manning faces charges including aiding the enemy, which carries life imprisonment.
As it cross-examined prosecution witnesses on Sunday, the defence team continued to suggest that Manning should not have had access to classified documents, given his emotional state.

You've kept us in suspense long enough...
Praise of evidently treasonous activities on this conservative site does not meet any minimal standard of rationality, absent some detailed and convincing explanation.
Unless you care to explain why releases of thousands of classified docs which caused enormous problems for our military and diplomats across numerous countries is a “service to freedom” thoughtful people will conclude that you are neither serious nor respectable in making such hit-and-run remarks.
It would not be any plausible argument merely to cite a few items of info that you think are good to have in the public arena. The beginnings of a plausible argument would need to justify the entirety of the release plus justify a principle that it’s permissible to violate all document classifications when you (the individual) think it might be good to do so.
If he had struck a superior like they say, I’m pretty sure that there would have been, at the very least, Article 15 proceedings placed against him.
But there is no mention of that. Which is very fishy.
My goodness he’s a walking sterotype.
Check out the second courtroom sketch included in that article. It looks like the artist was trying to have a little fun at the traitor's expense.
I think it’s something that rhymes with “stock” that he’s a pirate of......

He should be shot on National TV..
That was my first reaction, especially when the reporting just flew right over it like it was commonplace.
Maybe the female superior just whipped his ass.
Been known to happen. That avoids the article 15 for both the subordinate and superior.
And maintains good order and discipline.
No fighting in the war room.
“If he had struck a superior like they say, Im pretty sure that there would have been, at the very least, Article 15 proceedings placed against him. But there is no mention of that. Which is very fishy.”
You got that right.
Could it be they were already investigating him for treason?
