It's the right translation. There has been speculation from Christian scholars in S. Korea that N. Korea's personality cult around Kim Il-sung(then Kim Jong-il and now Kim Jong-un) is modeled after Christian theology. In that sense, it is not surprising that you encounter such an expression for Kim Jong-eun. Kim Il-sung was the Messiah for Korean people according to N. Korean ideology. Now his grandson apparently attains the same status.

N. Korea is a country dedicated to immortalizing self-claimed Messiah, Kim Il-sung. In order to do that, his offsprings have to rule in perpetuity, acting as a chief priest for him, while carrying godly status on their own right.

Kim Il-sung wanted to avoid the fate which befell on Stalin and Mao after their death. He managed to hold it off by a generation, but the cult will end soon in catastrophic collapse.

Mourning Criticism Sessions til 8th

An inside source has reported that the expected criticism sessions have gotten underway to deal with those people who transgressed in the eyes of the authorities during the mourning period for Kim Jong Il.

The source from Yangkang Province told Daily NK yesterday, “From the 29th, enterprises at every level and people’s units started criticism sessions. Those who were not in attendance at commemorative events were branded ‘traitors’; those who were not sufficiently sincere during mourning events became ‘reactionaries’.”

The source added that this is generating fear in the people, explaining, “When the North Korean authorities say that the people were insincere it basically means a declaration of war on those who did things like not crying or only attended once, so people are feeling very uneasy.”

“There is an order from the Party to finish the criticism by January 8th, so there are ongoing investigations and discussions involving criticism every day,” he added, before noting, “Those people who brought white flowers from their homes to the statue instead of newly made ones are also targets for punishment.”

The North Korean authorities mobilized people from all sectors of society to mourn Kim Jong Il in various ways from December 19th to the 29th. However, given the frigid weather and lack of real love felt by many for Kim, it was inevitable that some would not ‘mourn’ to the satisfaction of the authorities.

In addition, branches of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth Leagues are investigating absenteeism from elementary and senior middle schools, and universities.

The source said that over two days on the 30th and the 31st of last month, four people were arrested in the Haejang and Hyeshin areas of Hyesan for their failure to attend events. Among the four, one was supposedly a single-parent raising three children who could not make it because her 6 year old daughter was sick.

As such, the source went on, “People are already expressing complaints about that guy(Kim Jong Eun)’s controls.” According to him, they are pointing out among other things that it is surely not a crime to miss a mourning service when a young child is sick.

Speculation rises on Kim Jong-un’s visit to China

By Kim Young-jin

Reports that top North Korean officials are preparing to visit China fueled speculation Monday that new leader Kim Jong-un could soon visit his country’s main ally to shore up support after the death of his father, late ruler Kim Jong-il.

Multiple local reports citing sources familiar with the matter said Jang Song-thaek, Kim’s powerful uncle and Kim Yong-nam, the North’s titular head of state, were ironing out the details of a visit to meet with Beijing officials.

Given their reported closeness to the Kim family, some observers said the trip could be a precursor to one by Jong-un, who the North has dubbed its “Supreme Leader.” Others, however, said the 20-something needed to further consolidate his power before taking such a trip.

The Dec. 17 death of the late ruler has spawned concerns over his inexperienced son’s ability to lead the impoverished country of 24 million. Many see Beijing, the North’s main ally and economic partner as playing a key role in ensuring stability.

“Kim Jong-un is likely to make a symbolic visit to China after he consolidates power to signal their special relationship,” Yoo Ho-yeol, a North watcher at Korea University said. He added such a move is likely only after Kim becomes General Secretary of the ruling Workers Party.

Beijing has been signaling its commitment to its ally since the announcement of Kim Jong-il’s death last month, with President Hu Jintao recently congratulating the young leader on his appointment as commander of the North’s military.

Yoo said any trip by the two North Korean officials would likely be to thank Beijing for its support and brief officials on the situation in Pyongyang. China may offer aid to help the North celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Kim Il-sung in April, he said.

Analysts expect China, already the North’s major source of trade and aid, to boost cooperation in a bid to steady Kim’s hand. Beijing is said to be highly concerned about potential instability at its borders.

Kim Jong-il made multiple visits to China in recent years, seen as efforts to boost cooperation amid Pyongyang’s growing isolation over its nuclear program.

Take a close look at the picture. No one said cheese, thus no one is smiling except perhaps the first one in the white parka(?). Did they ran out of gray(?) gabardine pants as the second person has black/blue. Maybe he is using the extra pairs for the terrified Kim Jung eun?

Is there only one female (third line above KJu)?
