Check out this interesting story: Updated: 13 SC Tea Party Leaders Blast Bachmann Tactics Patch Nearly a month after a SC spokesman for Rep. Michele Bachmann accused Newt Gingrich of trying to buy off the states Tea Party leaders by bringing them on as staffers, more than a dozen of the movements leaders are fighting back.
In a strongly worded letter issued Friday afternoon, 13 leaders of the SC Tea Party movement accused her of attacking the tea party movement by accusing tea party supporters of Newt Gingrich of being bought off and said she has escalated the battle by making it national news by discussing it with John King on CNN Wednesday night.
Now that Michele Bachmann herself has decided to throw fuel on the fire, and this issue has become national news, we as leaders within the South Carolina tea party movement feel we must speak out to defend our integrity, reads the letter, which was circulated on Twitter and on at least one Tea Party website.
They accuse Bachmann of trying to divide the Tea Party movement, and defended Gingrich, who has said time and again that the only real opponent is President Barack Obama

Correct, like Doug Hoffman who kept out Scozzafava. Once Scozzafava was out, Matt Doheny, an establishment RINO who is in favor of unlimited debt ceiling and who would have supported raising the debt by $1T on paper and then slashing it in order to claim that he slashed $1T, took on Hoffman.
Note that Doheny decided to run against Hoffman but was comfortable with Scozzafava.
“...getting a President elected is what matters.”
That is the main point.
What passes for “principles” generally is confusion and irrationality and has nothing to do with principles. There is nothing above beating Obama and no amount of sanctimonious breast-beating will change that.
She’s on a scorched earth mission, for some reason..............................named Mitt.
“The RNC created this mess on purpose....” Great stuff, hysterically funny. Are you a professional comedian?
Court singer perhaps?
You accept a lot as “knowledge” which is nothing of the sort. Rumour, implication etc. Yes, knowledge no.
I am assuming you are trying to impress with your strange...um...duh post. But comparing the Tea Party to Ceaucescu...a Communist? Really..Dude/dudette?
There were many conservatives in the 2010 election that won due to the TP influence.
Oh, please. Michelle has been going after the Front runner as that leaves Willard out. Plus, she is going after the supporters of the other conservatives. Willard’s are mainly moderates who would not be attracted to her politics.
There is no “stalking horse” or any of the other delusions about her role. Like her or not she is a woman of integrity.
There is no need for Machiavellian interpretations of her tactics. They are straightforward.
There is too much confusing Effect with Intention here.
Maybe, on the other hand, I have paid as much attention (or MORE) as you and any of the other fire-breathers as well.
I know all about Newt’s mistakes but he is a conservative IF ANYONE IS. That is the issue NO ONE will satisfy the Fire-Breathers. Being anti-Abortion is not enough, being Pro-American is not enough, being against taxes is not enough, being committed to national defense is not enough, being pro-capitalist is not enough. NOTHING is enough.
Well a good puppet-master can manipulate many sets of strings, doncha know?
I was very intrigued by your “effect with intention” comment earlier.
I look at actions and words. I don’t find Michele to be straightforward or have integrity. She is a politician.
Just like the others.
I don't see how they could...These kinds of guys are what the Tea Party is all about...
The real Tea Party a like minded group of individuals...There is no leader...And as far as I know the mantra is NOT, anyone but Obama...It is anyone except the status quo...
I am a TEA Partier and no body is going to hi-jack me.
Newt had an extremely high rating from the ACU while serving in Congress and was instrumental in passing many pieces of legislation reining in the government including the first balanced budget in over 40 yrs.
He RESIGNED from the House after four years of relentless, never-ending attacks on him.
“Remember, it was conservatives who threw him out as Speaker.” That is a complete falsehood, and if repeated after being corrected will become a lie. Newt quit because the 98 elections went Democrat partially because of the Impeachment proceedings and his personal problems. Conservatives at the time were very unhappy with the removal of Newt when his leadership had been outstanding.
Indeed, goal post movement is EXACTLY what we are seeing along with distortion/misrepresentation of history.
There is plenty to be praised (in the proper context)in almost all of our past presidents (maybe Andrew Johnson is an exception). No objective historian will claim otherwise.
He is IN NO WAY a “progressive”.
He teamed up with Bill Clinton to force the NAFTA free trade
agreement through Congress, over the strong opposition of the
majority of the American people; some 50,000 American factories
have closed since its passage. He voted yes on Jimmy Carter’s
proposal to create the federal Department of Education, which takes
more control over local schools every year. In 2007 he told PBS
that he “would strongly support” a cap and trade program. Now he
not only says he opposes cap and trade, he denies that he ever
supported it. It’s the same with socialized medicine; he now
claims to oppose Obamacare, but has long supported a federal law
requiring people to buy health insurance
I’m sure he is no friend of the Fire-Breathers’ idea of conservatism but only about 2% agree with that so big whip.
“Look, this crap is exactly why Im not a Republican any longer.”
And you are concerned about the GOP nomination for exactly what reason, if you have no dog in the fight?
In REALITY (you know the land that isn’t fantasy) Newt’s voting record was VERY conservative according to the American Conservative Union. But that is a group of REAL conservatives not pretend ones.
Cain derailed his own train.
Every time MB supporters call or write for money, I tell them to stick it. Next time around, I’m supporting her primary challenger.
