The last debate before the January 3rd Iowa caucuses is being held tonight in Sioux City.
We get seven candidates at this debate: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman.
Fox's Bret Baier anchors the debate. Fox News panelists questioning the candidates: Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Neil Cavuto.
Kelly’s facial expressions told it all. Especially after Newt scored big points with the audience. She hates Newt and he totally outclassed the field tonight.
Newt has the ability to connect with the audience like no other candidate since Reagan. I truly mean that.
I guess Im a anybody but Obama or Ron Paul guy....and I have hope (isnt that what Obama was peddling?) that we can call someone else a president next year

FR need to get on Twitter (if inclined) and start slamming these hacks 140 characters at a time. Many of my tweets slamming the moderators were retweeted. We will especially need to do this during the general election.
I hate - one of my biggest pet peeves - HATE when people try to pass off reliably Pro-Life candidates as Pro-Infanticide, as Michelle Bachmann was trying to do to Newt Gingrich.
She is right that this issue is serious - and SHE SHOULD NOT DISHONESTLY TRY AND PAINT NEWT GINGRICH AS A BABY KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shame on you, Michelle Bachmann, shame on you.
Thanks for answering my question.
You are wrong. Perry wants to be president. I know people that are standing right next to him right now. I know some of his closest advisers. He wants the job. He is going to go all out to win.
I was a Perry basher here some months back. But after a very good friend and one of the brightest people in the country started to support Perry and then introduced me to him I changed my mind.
Perry does not need to promote Texas. A good chunk of the country is moving here as it is.
“Perry refused to bash NNewt.”
I noticed that in the last two debates. It appears to me Perry has become more “Newtonian”. It has served Perry well and he is rising in the debates. Perry is a good study.
Agreed. It’s one thing to challenge Newt on his background or positions, but another to keep gnawing on his ankles like a crazed Yorkie.
“Horsecrap. She threw out a dozen wild allegations and he tried to address as many as time allowed.”
Exactly right. Some of these Freepers are off their meds like Ron Paul was tonight.
That’s it. Those words were said by George HW Bush on the night he was elected in ‘88. (McCain copied them himself.) Bachmann claimed that those words invoked by Reagan. I heard her say that clearly. “The American People have spoken, and they have spoken clearly.
She made one accusation. I was wrong about it being funding for PP it was about support for candidates who supported partial birth abortion. His answer was an evasion plain and simple.
THE SUMMARY: (Close the thread immediately afterwards.)
The most memorable of the debate were the excessive makeups (THE EYES, man, THE I’s!) on the two females, one a debaitor, the other a motherator.
With Cain gone, there's only 7 on stage...
“Newt had some opportunities he blew also, such as when he was asked about Romneys inconsistent comment”
True enough but maybe Newt is trying to stick by his not bashing another Republican candidate.
I wasn’t able to watch the debate either but I have it taped.
So, really neither one of us know squat. That’s why I haven’t commented.
I get some impressions from the thread.
Bachmann is probably out and should realize it soon.
Huntsman has some reason for running but he should get out also.
Mitt will stick to the bitter end, but I think the bitter end is here for him.
Gingrich always is glib and fun to listen to, but when one steps back and takes a look — lots of negatives.
I’ve been for Perry all along and I see that he came in first or second in most people’s minds.
I think he has a real chance.
You nailed that I think...they go way back when they organized that gathering in Washington...and because Becks Mormon I think that's why she plays soft on Romney....she's not going to do anything to disturb the support of Beck...and the future plans the two are going are planning. Beck's pretty much lost me now....I had to tolerate some of his antics before but since leaving Fox he's really gone nutty to many times....I think Fox kept the leash on him because it's obvious he needed that now. Wish he'd just stick to what he does best instead of imagining he is more.
Yes and that's when I said I am finished with her.
She crossed a line she cannot take back and worse yet, she repeated the charge just minutes ago during her interview with Hannity.
Go away Bachmann. She is certifiably hysterical.
I loved it when Newt called Obama an Alinsky radical. Yeah, I think he'll really take the gloves off and lay into Obama's socialist/communist background, training, mentors, etc. America will have to choose: Socialism vs American Exceptionalism. It's your call American voter. . .
