The last debate before the January 3rd Iowa caucuses is being held tonight in Sioux City.
We get seven candidates at this debate: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman.
Fox's Bret Baier anchors the debate. Fox News panelists questioning the candidates: Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Neil Cavuto.
Wow I am looking through some comments here and some look like DUmmy comments causing strife and confusion.
Perry did superbly.I like the part time congress.I think Perry could pull it all off.TX border clean up is of utmost in a national security.Bachmann had GUTS telling the truth about insider good ole boy Gingrich.Gingrich is a good man, more grit than McCain but he would never really change DC. Paul has some good basic points then he blows it and goes whacko.Huntsmen’s way of talking is so irritating.Santorum did well.
She showed me her nature early on when she attacked Perry over Gardasil.
I have not seen much of that. I'll agree that those types of posts are here. But they seem few and far between and when they are over the top they get nuked. Maybe over the years I have developed a filter of sorts when those posts pop up but I don't see what you see...
LOL!
Good thread all.
nite
[The problem is Michele identified a tragic flaw in Newt.
Instead of explaining, he derided Michele as inaccurate, not factual.]
BS. He pointed out that he has a 98.5% pro-life record and as Speaker he and the Republican majority sent a partial birth abortion ban to Clinton’s desk twice which Clinton vetoed. Btw, Michelle’s facts were inaccurate and twisted. Michelle has has a habit of twisting the truth.
Frank Luntz said that her relentless attacks are not what the Iowa voters want to see. Juan Williams said Newt turned it around tonight.
Thanks very much, but the question was posed with Santorum in mind for VP.
Could he carry PA as the VP?
It is not possible for Gingrich to deconstruct the distortion she presented within a 30 second rebuttal. If you want the truth, look at Gingrich’s record. As Speaker he passed and sent the Partial Birth Abortion ban twice to Clinton and Clinton vetoed it twice. His record stands far taller than her distorted, desperate attacks.
Attacking Newt like Bachman did tonight makes it clear to me she’s NOT a leader, NOT interested in what’s best for the country ...it’s all about her and her political ambition. It’s a huge turnoff to me. Newt’s been pro-life for YEARS .. .YEARS before anyone even knew Bachmans name!!
Pisses me off.
No it hasn’t!
I second that - great time tonight - Freepin’ great!
G’Night....
I watched a little of the debate but I would rather be here....... reading the comments of the freepers. :)
Good to hear the Iowa perspective. Thanks.
Inasmuch as Romney is clearly the establishment's guy, he will undoubtedly surround himself with establishment sorts.
Perry has already said he would ask Bolton to be his Sec'y of State. He would probably lean on conservative movement and think-tank types.
Newt? Could be anybody. Newt's taste in "experts" is wide-ranging...and a little inconsistent (see global warming, see healthcare). A Democrat or two -- for "outreach" -- wouldn't surprise me.
Yup, like the mom with the Gardasil induced, mentally retarded daughter.
She's a hack.
Winners - Newt, Perry Spinning their wheels - Huntsman, Santorum, Romney Losers - Bachman, Paul
Santorum — was positive. pro-life,
Perry — good debate.
Newt — needs to learn to be a front runner. Needs to desperately
clear up his Fannie/Freddie lobbying/consulting problem.
Michele — might have been too aggressive to the detriment of her ideas.
Romney — loser. flustered sometimes.
Huntsman
She’s a lib who used to think she was the smartest in the room.
