President Barack Obama is in big trouble, with both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich leading him in a dozen key swing states, according to a new USA Today/Gallup poll.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Romney leads Obama among registered voters 48 percent to 43 percent in the 12 states the survey covers. And former House Speaker Gingrich leads the president 48 percent to 45 percent. Nationwide, Obama leads Gingrich 50 percent to 44 percent and Romney 47 percent to 46 percent, according to the poll.
The 12 states include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Obama won all of them in 2008. Each could go either way next year, and Obama needs to win half of their electoral votes to gain a second term, according to USA Today.

The decrease in the number of voters who identify themselves as Democrats, coupled with the increase of those who call themselves independents, will make Obamas re-election quest more difficult. Excluding those who lean Democratic, the portion of voters who identify themselves as Democrats has slipped to 30 percent from 35 percent in 2008. Meanwhile, the portion of independents has climbed to 42 percent from 35 percent.
In three of the eight swing states that have party registration Colorado, Iowa, and New Hampshire independents now outnumber both Republicans and Democrats.
Thats bad news for Obama,

But trends in ideological demographics are working for Republicans and against Democrats. In the swing states poll, 44 percent of respondents called themselves conservatives, more than doubling the 21 percent who called themselves liberal.
Assuming strong support among conservatives, the Republican nominee will need only a small portion of the 35 percent of voters who call themselves moderates to win the election. Obama, on the other

I don’t care about any of that. Obama must be defeated at all costs.
You are correct but will get much heat for saying it.
“A lot of us do care about abortion.”
This would be the greatest argument to do anything to defeat Obama. Obama is the most Pro-abort president we have ever seen and only Ron Paul might not be preferable to Obama on abortion though he claims to be anti.
Abortion is perhaps the greatest reason to defeat Obama particularly if you have any belief that the Supreme Court will someday overturn Roe. With two more Obama appointees you can effectively forget about that ever happening.
Reconciling “principle” with continued slaughter will be impossible.
“I dont like Newt cheating either while he was raking Clinton over the coals for bad behavior.” That did not happen. When will people stop with the “raking Clinton over the coals for bad behavior” nonsense.
Clinton was impeached FOR LYING IN FEDERAL COURT not for “bad behavior”.
Find out what you are talking about before slamming any of these politicians with it.
One big difference between Newt and McCain is that Newt won’t surrender after winning the nomination.
That is fine by me. Smoking out fools is fun.
Clinton lied about sex. You can’t have the lie without the blue dress. Cheating is cheating. Newt is too much like a Bob Dole or a McCain. Every time we go older except for Ronald Reagan, we will lose.
Clinton committed perjury in a federal court. His law license was not suspended because he lied but because he LIED IN COURT. Newt is nothing like Dole or McCain and only someone who has no knowledge of the man would try to get away with a lie like that.
You apparently refuse to get the point of the impeachment. Presidents don’t get impeached for diddling the interns. Trivializing it by claiming it was just about sex is what the RATS trot out to excuse Clinton. I thought all conservatives knew what the case was.
I have had dealings with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac’s cousin. That’s my big problem with Newt. Was he advising Freddie Mac to suck? On Freddie Mac and their crony capitalism, Newt gets an F.
I remember Newt from way back. He can’t beat Obama imo.
Actually, I worked in a law office during all the impeachment stuff. We closed the office to watch the deposition. I KNEW what it was about. It doesn’t mean that Newt’s behavior is excusable to me. I remember when Newt’s mom called Connie Chung the B word. That was funny.
Newt gave them good advice why blame him because the RATS used these agencies to increase the RAT vote? You are grasping at straws to find something to oppose the man.
I am not a big fan but if he wins the nomination there is no question that he is 1000x better than the Obamination.
