nice

I have often thought of building a buttstock for a break action single shot that has a built in “pez dispenser” like shell dispenser. Break the barrel and grab a shell and slide it into the barrel. The “pez dispenser” could even be made to utilize detachable box magazines.

The particular break action single shots I used were Brazilian made and had a detacheable foregrip to which I attached a vertical foregrip, so the weapon could be held by the off hand while loading and cocking the hammer with the strong hand. The last ones I made sold like hotcakes at the local gunshows and I gave the very last one to my ex for home defense. The system I used to attach the foregrips allows for attaching a laser, also and or flashlight.

The great thing about the break action shotguns is that they can be disassembled and carried in a back pack so easily, and there are many different rounds for shotguns now. A 20 gage sabot round will drop a kodiak bear!

I think Rossi makes a gun like that. Simple single shot, polymer stock, with shell storage.

At least I think it was Rossi.

Just pick up a Saiga. Not cheap ($800-$2000 depending on options), but if you need more than one 12 gauge round they are one of the best options out there. Not an attractive weapon, but it is going to work when you need it.

I've had similar ideas, but the wrist of a shotgun buttstock is a weak spot to begin with. Notice how the "Speedfeed" buttstocks have the magazine components and loading port well clear of the handgrip area.

What you're specifically describing is the path that 'repeating rifle' technology took when fixed ammunition became the standard after the Civil War.

Turned out to be a dead-end. Winchester's lever action design proved superior in all ways, and in less than ten years after the Civil War concluded.

I'm unsure of what solution your idea is supposed to be providing, but I can expect that you'd eventually discover that the lever-action does it better.

Not necessary. A $5.00 nylon buttcuff works just fine, and a slightly more expensive one, better built, works even better. Hit the link below for a demonstration.

Get the Thunder Ranch training video, a good flashlight, and some ammo for practice, practice, practice.
