WASHINGTON, D.C. December 9, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – As part of a worldwide campaign to promote global acceptance of homosexuality, the Obama administration has established a $3 million “Global Equality Fund” to fund homosexual political “advocacy” around the world at taxpayer expense. State Department guidelines suggest this could include everything from funding foreign political activists to campaign against legislation that defines marriage as a union between one man and one women, to hosting gay pride parades and concerts by Lady Gaga in far-flung countries.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trumpeted the formation of the group in a speech she delivered in Geneva on Tuesday. “I am also pleased to announce that we are launching a new Global Equality Fund that will support the work of civil society organizations working on these issues around the world,” Clinton said.
“This fund will help them record facts so they can target their advocacy, learn how to use the law as a tool, manage their budgets, train their staffs, and forge partnerships with women’s organizations and other human rights groups,” Clinton said.
She noted the administration had “committed more than $3 million” of taxpayer funds to start this organization. The State Department’s website describes the fund as a “public-private partnership” that “will seek partnership commitments from donor governments, corporations, and foundations.”
A State Department fact sheet reveals that its Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) will “support programming through the Global Equality Fund.” This will include boosting “NGO capacity to advocate before host governments and in multilateral forums” on behalf of LGBT causes. The DRL asks homosexual groups to assist them in documenting cases of discrimination.
The fund will also pay for international “programs that enhance public awareness and further positive dialogue” about homosexuality, “such as inclusive civic education and cultural activities, and build diverse human rights coalitions around public messaging.”
The fact sheet suggests these could include such events as gay pride parades and concerts by Lady Gaga – the controversial pop singer who raised the ire of Christians earlier this year when she released a video for her song Judas that depicted her at one point dressed as Mary Magdalene, sensuously nibbling Jesus Christ’s ear.
The State Department boasts it “helped convince pop artist and LGBT advocate Lady Gaga to perform at EuroPride Rome in June 2011.”
Obama’s closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett, wrote on Tuesday that she was “deeply moved” by the pop singer’s activism.
The Global Equality Fund is only one small part of an ambitious agenda to recast all U.S. foreign policy to support the LGBT cause around the world. On Tuesday, Barack Obama issued a presidential memorandum instructing foreign embassies to “expand efforts to combat discrimination, homophobia, and intolerance on the basis of LGBT status or conduct” in their host countries.
I don’t get it - HOW are clinton and obama able to obligate money anywhere? Isn’t that the job of the legislature? How do they get away with that?

Everyone of the presidential candidates needs to be talking about this kind of abuse of the Constitution and taxpayer money. All of it needs to be enumerated and highlighted. I guarantee that this kind of waste and abuse is disgusting to most Americans.

The State Department has a budget (as determined by the legislature) that it can pretty well do with as it sees fit?
Hopefully our next president will be a Republican with guts who will clean out the State Department of all of this liberal insanity, not like George W. who kept many of Clinton’s leftovers just to be a nice guy. No more nice guy Republicans—scorched earth for the next president with ALL conservatives in ALL parts of government. Clinton cleaned out the Republicans from the first Bush administration but George W. had to show that he wasn’t a mean Republican by *reaching across the aisle.* No more!

I don’t care if~Lady GaGa~wanted to go do this on her own & fund it herself but I am sick of the outrageous spending of stupid things by these fruit loops in DC. Shame on them. And good luck to LG if she goes to an Arab country who hates homo’s, maybe she she can take Sir Elton with her!
