Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) called for an immediate repeal of President Obama's healthcare law but would reinstate "a little over 10 percent" of it.
He made the remarks on Thursday in Iowa, when he introduced a new version of his "Contract with America."
Gingrich, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, listed "Repeal ObamaCare" as the first of his 10 part contract.
"The reason you have to repeal it is it's a 2,700-page document," Gingrich said. "You can't repeal part of it, because candidly you can't trust the staffs to tell you which part you ought to repeal."
But the former Speaker stressed that he had a "common-sense replacement" for the nation's healthcare system, and that some of that comes from the law he wants repealed.
"Now there are about 300 pages that are pretty good, a little over 10 percent, but they should be part of the replace document," Gingrich said.

I am not as educated as you on this subject, so I won’t pretend to know more than I do. All I know is that, for example, in auto repair, I can go to any garage I choose, so the repair shops must compete for my business by keeping their prices competitive. If healthcare worked the same way, the prices for services would stay lower based on what people could afford to pay, and the whole industry would run at a lower cost structure, making it unattractive to government crooks looking to fill their coffers and shyster lawyers looking to dip into pockets of money. It’s a pipe dream, I know...
Knew what your meaning was. No disrespect to you. Just a bit of history on my part. As a Dr., my Ggf was given what people could afford. Many times it was food and such. This is back in the day when doctors would make house calls.

How does it benefit the insurance company for the cost to be $1400. Do you have insurance? If so do you actually look at EOB's when issued? The insurance company probably only paid $250 dollars. To a large extent the $1400 dollars is caused by the government intrusion into the industry.
Have you read the actual law? If not, then nobody knows what they are talking about. There are some good things..like...CUTTING WASTE AND FRAUD. Like preventative medicine. I’m sure in those thousands of pages, there are some good ideas..I am sure Gingrich has read it. That doesn’t mean he wants the whole thing. It means he is honest and not knee jerk.

So basically you’re saying “free market solutions” are nothing? How about showing people it’s better for them to be in control of their own health. As long as we treat adults like children they’ll act like that. And what kind of “reforms” are people in favor of? What do polls say the government should do for (or to) us? Why do people always assume that when polls show people want “XYZ” to change, they mean they want the government to do the changing for them.

I’m not saying it benefits the insurance industry, I’m saying the idea of collecting health care dollars out of peoples paychecks isolates the service from the payment, allowing the costs to spiral higher, which drives the payment up, which drives the cost up, which drives the payment up... I pay $4800 a year and my employer pays a lot more than that. That’s a lot of cash...it’s no wonder the Democrats have been trying to get their hands on it since Carter.

Like normal, Gingrich wants a big government solution to Healthcare that he thinks he will be able to make work. He promises to put things up on the internet, but he notes that his "21st Century Contract" is far more ambitious than the original and will therefore require green eyeshades over a period of time in order to adequately vet the actual laws required to implement them.
He pledged to conduct a program of transformation of the federal government and of societal expectations of the federal government to get the country back from a central to a federal government model in which the Tenth Amendment is not a dead letter.He also pledged to get serious about reining in the imperial judiciary.All the red meat you could ask for.

Life should be about enjoying the moment. Life since 1/20/09 has sucked so every bit of levity is precious.
It’s like saying “Well, at least Mussolini made the trains run on time”.
But first, we need to overthrow Obamalini. Then we can deal with the trains.

And so as we WAIT and WAIT and WAIT and WAIT ...for so called repeal, with 2400 pages of.....
.... then has “Mr. Contract”, while we WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT, signed a CONTRACT to promise by order of the so called Health Secretary, to EXEMPT all the people as his first act, along with all the other exemptions, based on non-discrimination?
And who determines that......
.....the next of kin.
Cost...hospitals can’t turn away emergency room care EVEN if the person is uninsured..or rarely do they ever turn away a pregnant woman, gun shot victim, drug over dose patient and do you think the “private sector” picks up the tab? hospitals get stuck with the bills so YOU the taxpayer pick it up in some hidden taxes.
Some are using the free healthcare on the backs of others...some from the womb to the tomb...who pays? the taxpayer
