A Macys department store employee in San Antonio, Texas, has been fired for not allowing a cross-dressing young man to return to the womens dressing room, according to a law firm that specializes in religious freedom cases.
Natalie Johnson said she told the young man politely that he could not go back into the dressing room after seeing him exit the womens fitting room, reported Liberty Counsel, a group of advocacy lawyers.
Johnson said the man was wearing make-up and girls clothing and told her that he is a female. The cross-dresser was accompanied by five other individuals, who argued with expletives that Macys was LGBT-friendly, according to Liberty Counsels statement.
The Macys employee reportedly said to the group that the company is also non-discriminatory toward religion, and that it would go against her religious beliefs to lie that he was a woman or compromise with homosexuality.
After receiving a complaint from the group, the Macys manager informed Johnson of the companys LGBT policy which allows transgender people to change in any dressing room they desire. Johnson argued that the same policy also protects against religious discrimination. She felt her beliefs were being violated, say Liberty Counsel officials.
Johnson was reported to have been fired for refusing the managers request to follow the company LGBT policy, saying she would not go against her religious beliefs.
Macys policy which allows men to use the womens dressing room is fraught with problems, stated Mathew Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. This policy will cause significant problems and will alienate the majority of Macys customers.

Not quite right. You are either male, female, or pervert.
Personally, I can’t stand shopping at Macy’s. My experience of late is that they are dirty and extremely understaffed. The whole ambiance of the stores has gone downhill over the years.
Agreed
Males have small sex cells, females large. The difference (the true definition of what the sexes actually are) results from an ancient conflict. Long ago (and in some organisms today), sex cells were all the same size and fused to make an embryo, well provided with food. Then self interest made an appearance and one partner moved to making smaller but more abundant cells. He (for such was, from that moment, his gender) might have hungry young, but there were more of them. His success was limited by the risk of those small cells fusing to make an embryo with too little food to grow at all. Selection favored union with the large cells of his ally, and so the sexes were born. Males have been frauds since they began.
The Jones book is a modern update of Darwin's Origin . And, it's a great read
Chevydude26, to say one is only following orders has not been a defense since WWII. That said, I will not tolerate the ladies in our family to be subject to peering eyes of men in the dressing rooms. Macy’s will not be visited on the trip to the mall.
May I recommend that you go to the Macy's web site and respectfully tell them that you will no longer shop there because of their policy. Obviously they care more about protecting the "feelings" of a tiny minority over the rest of their customers. As such, I will never make a purchase there again.
How are we doing?
We want to hear about your shopping experience in our stores

Now THAT is timing! God bless you.
there are some stores, such as Gap, where it's not so separated. In a place like Macy's or Nordstrom's you can have alterations done in the dressing room common area.
If I'm not expecting a man in the dressing area, it would be quite a shock to see one walk in and change clothes.
R.H.Macy must be rolling over in his grave. Macy’s is not the store he founded. Of course, the grand stores - Finlene, Fox, Maas Brothers, and others - are not the stores of today.
I can see your point. She was probably an employee at will. Yes, she was insubordinate but I doubt that at employee orientation she was told that men would be allowed to use the ladies’ changing room—under certain circumstances.
Here in flyover country—save our simple souls—we expect that if the door says `Ladies’ on it, women will be using it and men will be barred. And vice versa.
I expect that’s what her lawyers will be looking at as soon as possible: personnel manuals, training procedures, etc. And I doubt that a Texas jury is going to have much patience with an east/left coast argument using words like “celebrating diversity,” “sexual choice,” ya da ya da ya da, ad nauseum, even in a federal court.
There’s something really wrong here besides Macy’s freakish PC policy that will get some woman raped or killed.
“Transgender” men cannot wear clothes from department stores. They usually go online or read gay newspapers that cater to that clientele. You can’t GET a size 18 high heel at Macy’s! But you can go to some slummy little shop in the Village (or Chelsea, I suppose) and buy this weird stuff.
Absolutely Macy’s chose the right time of year to do this to their Christian employee (sarcasm). Wonder what proportion of transgender people shop at Macy’s as opposed to Christians?
Macy’s - unlike, say, The Gap - still has dressing rooms that are fairly isolated and segregated by sex. In fact, they’re damn creepy. If some tranny walked in on me at Macy’s, I’d freak.
Me neither. They won’t give discount to cash paying customers... now another reason not to walk in their store.
It is in San Antonio so I can’t imagine many transgender people going there. However, in New York, San Fran and other places they may be more plentiful. I believe they will lose a small amount of business from this because most people in the United States will never hear about this story. I definitely wouldn’t have heard it had I not been a FREEPER. I hope the woman gets her job back. It seems like the entire event could have been handled a bit better. He had already been in the changing room....probably stepped out to show the other 5 what everything looked like...needed to change back into his clothes. I would have checked to see if others were in the changing room. If empty, told him to please quickly change. I think that would have been a better way to handle it. Had there been people changing either wait for them to leave or at the least she could have gone in for the clothes still waiting in the dressing room.
No Macy’s for me. I’ll go to Sears, Marshall’s, JC Penney, etc. instead for all my shopping.
Right after we moved to Texas in 1981, my wife to be and I went to a North Dallas mall. I think the store was Dillards. The future Mrs OrioleFan goes into the dressing room. Shortly a skinny little oriental guy walks out of the dressing room with a pair of women’s jeans. I looked at the clerk and said, “Must not have all the parts.” The clerk kind of giggled. The guy got insulted, threw the jeans on the floor and left.
Abercrombie and Fitch used to sell fishing, hunting and camping gear, along with practical outdoors clothing.
Now it sells urban crap.
It's run by a bunch of faggots, and its advertising appears (to me, at least) to be aimed at pedophiles.
Scientifically false. There are more permutations than XX and XY. There are also chimera.
You suggest a simplistic binary world when the natural world itself is far more complex. People are not widgets stamped out in a Chinese factory to specification.
