Since Ramesh, Mona, Yuval & Co have got out the tire irons, I figured I might as well pile on. But then a reader from the Cayman Islands reminded me that I

Ill join you in that Dream.
Why turn a dream into a nightmare?
Newt is a great thinker, he would do well as a college professor or in a think tank, but in the oval office you can’t easily retract mistakes. You don’t get re-do’s.
Newt is a BIG Government RINO Republican; Miles ahead of Obama but not what we need right now.
I think the left would love to have him as the nominee and then they could simply dig up all the headlines from the 90’s and use them against him and a volia, “O” wins. Just the name of Newt Gingrich evokes fear and hate among the left. The Mainstream Media is on the left, they will crucify Newt.
Myth and Newt are a gift...
They are making the RINOS come out from under their rocks..
And the truely confused republicans into rolling their eyes.. and drooling..
I see it a clarifying of the republican party..
Also true.. I am not very smart....... I am a republican..
Michele Bachmann is the ONLY conservative..
AND.. most republicans don’t WANT THAT...
Illegal aliens are either ILLEGAL or they aren’t..
Easy fix... MAKE THEM LEGAL... (amnesty)
Newt will be his own worst enemy. Newt supports the biggest world-wide Marxist endeavor -- the fraud of AGW.
I will not have a problem voting for Newt. However, I hold no illusion that anything significant will be done to turn our Republic towards Liberty.
We may get a conservative SC Justice from Newt. Maybe a four year break to allow a real Conservative to push to the front.
I have no doubt that the Clinton's still have Newt's FBI file. D.C. is a cesspool of evil parasites.
Maybe so, but unfortunately she can only muster single digits among Republicans, let alone a majority of the country as a whole. She would make a fine Speaker though, IMHO.

Like I just said..
Republicans generally are not conservatives.. even freepers..
Some maybe many are leaning toward or are socialists..
Social Security is literally pure socialism.. its a Ponzi scheme..
AND worse most republicans LOVE IT...
A few are indeed for the Chilean model.. (privatizing it)..
Ron Paul wants return to the Constitution and what he is called is; “crazy”..
Not Draconian or just over doing “IT”, he is called crazy..
Probably because most republicans don’t want the Constitution re-instated.. exactly..
BUT a socialist version of it..
I just heard on Fox - the round table - that Newt Gingrich is for Obama’s Health Care Program — the Government Health Care Program.
I have not heard this before. Is this true??!!
Well Newts going to repeal it on day one.
So the lying bastards at fox are just that: lying bastards.
First, republicans will call all consevatives names if they say they don't support Newt.
Then, the same republicans who have no problem insulting conservates, will remain mute when it comes to real life and their dem friends/relatives.
Then, Newt will lose. Not because conservatives didn't vote for him, but because he has too many issues that will be used against him. How does one say support my guy Newt after you have disagreed with them on global warming. Or how about vote for my guy Newt, we need to end the corruption in DC, so they bring up the Frannie/Freddie money he received.
Republicans ALWAYS miss the ground game. Always. They really don't understand how important it is to get people out there and get up the chatter that will counter the lies of the MSM.
Don't you guys remember in the 2008 election how quite political talk was? I sure do. Nobody bantered about the candidates.
The republicans I know IRL will talk politics with you, but if there is a known Dem, they will not even speak up with something insulting is said. conservatives though, they will speak out. without them doing this, we will lose. We always do. I believe we really need somebody with strong creds to take on the corruption that is Washington. I really think that would be a game changer, and could also do damage to the MSM that overlooked all the corruption. With a straight face, I don't know if that can be done with Newt.
Oh, and after the election and Obama wins again, guess who the republicans will blame.............?
I'm done with the republican game playing.
It makes not one bit of sense.
It was just two short years ago he BETRAYED Tea Partiers.
He just may destroy the Tea Party in the process.
FR support is truly a WTF moment.
To my way of thinking, NB is worth 20 of the top paid pundits in America today. Maybe 30.
In my opinion, the Punditocracy, left and right, has deep, deep mental problems.
Jim I have a slightly different take.
We are here because of the progressives...if we keep voting for progressives we will continue on this same path.
To me the progressives = tories, it’s 1775 again what choice you going to make: Tories or Patriots?
Well, I believe that we’re here at this particular point in this particular primary race, because our prime tea party conservative patriot candidates either:
a. failed to run
b. failed at the gate
c. shot off like a rocket, flamed out, crashed and burned
d. came in near the top with high expectations, shot self in foot, became tongue tied, dropped like a rock and can’t recover
e. all others aren’t getting any serious attention
It’s beginning to look a lot like Newt vs Romney in this race.
I’m not going for Romney! Ever!
Who you gonna call?
>> The amount of FReepers that give Newt a full pass for his ...
It’s about potential, not absolution.
Great Post!
...whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender!!
You misstate what he said, which granted was typical politicians’ chicanery about their terrible sacrifices in order to serve. Nevertheless, Romney is indeed the greater weirdo.
My understanding is that years ago Heritage came out supporting the idea of an individual mandate and Newt supported it. In one of the debates when Newt criticized Romney for Romneycare, Romney retorted — I got the idea from you and Heritage. Newt began to deny until Romney specifically reminded Newt of his support for the mandate.
At this point, both have stated unequivocally they will work for the repeal of Obamacare.
By the way, has anybody considered this reprobate spent the last 40 years in adultery. You think all the sudden he stopped? Not likely. If he were the candidate, how is it going to be when all his current shenanigans get exposed. Probably in very late October. Maybe this should be thoroughly investigated NOW?
Show me where he said his affair was patriotic. You are the one making that assertion. Show me the quote, not your paraphrase.
I don't agree with his policies, but he seems like a much more decent man than Romney. Romney is still with his family, and seems to have some morality. Gingrich has abandoned 2 families, and can anybody argue that he has any shred of morality? If he had a "d" after his name, he'd be recognized as the scum he is. (I don't support either of them)
