Ron Paul is the only one who has laid out a detailed and specific economic plan that cuts out five departments, keeps Social Security and Medicare for those already dependent or nearing retirement, and makes it work. Even Rush praised Ron Paul's plan.

But what surprises me is when Sarah and Rush can praise Ron Paul's economic plan and still be critical of his foreign policy, given that the plan itself is only able to save SSI and Medicare in the short run by ending the wars and bringing the troops home. You can't do one without the other -- no one wants to hear it but we are broke. We've got money to defend ourselves and our country, but not to police and manage the world -- not that we've been doing such a great job of either for many years or we wouldn't be in the deep hole we are at today.

How can this be puzzling to you? Most conservatives agree with the bulk of Representative Paul's economic policy agenda, it's just that his foreign policy agenda is suicidally insane.

Is "Israel has 3 or 400 nuclear weapons, let them worry about their own defense," a sane suggestion to the threat from Iran? Does any sane person believe that a nuclear exchange between Israel and Iran would lead to anything but complete chaos and mayhem throughout the Middle East? Any such occurrence would destroy the world's economy cause worse mayhem and destruction than a complete collapse of the European Market.

Yes, it's an unlikely occurrence, but that doesn't make it a sane suggestion. It's thoughtless, careless, naive and dangerous--as are most of Paul's ideas on FP.

Also by cutting all foreign aid and eliminating 'nation building', Israel will benefit.

Paul: "Stop and consider America’s policy: We give $3 billion a year to Israel in loans; and we give $12 billion or more in assistance to Israel’s self-declared enemies. Some of these are countries that say they will drive Israel into the sea. "
