Probably should’ve read the entire article, but why in the world did the judge not feel he deserved the 20 yr max? Is it because of all the contrition he’s shown up to now?
There was no contrition prior to the verdict and sentencing.
This guy played hardball all the way, even tried to get big name celebrities to plead on his behalf by he and his wife participating on Celebrity Apprentice and one other reality show.
He guested on all sorts of programs tying to build sympathy despite his criminality.
The judge stated he thought Blago lied on the stand.
I just don’t know how much more time you give a guy for this sort of thing. Hell, for second degree manslaughter, you probably get little more than this.
The range was 15 to 20, and the judge gave him 14. He’ll probably be out in seven to ten, but his life is done. He’ll never live this down IMO.
