Did you hear Mitt V Newt Sound Bytes on Fox News Special Report?

Did you just hear the back and forth between Mitt and Newt on the "insider/outsider" issue? Mitt made a decent opening shot but Newt returned fire and blistered him (IMO).

Link is not up yet, but wanted Freep nation feedback.

I just can’t stand Newt, and hope that people look at his record, and the way he treats women!

First of all, there is no way possible that Mitt Romney wins the GOP nomination. He cannot win a single Southern State, and he cannot win California or New York. There aren't enough votes left for him to possibly win.

Having said that, Newt Gingrich would be a disaster for the GOP. Even more than that, he would be a disaster for Conservatives. This is someone who believes that Government can be the solution to our problems. No thanks, to that. I've had enough of that already.

So that begs the question, why in the hell are we not choosing a conservative candidate instead? Conservatives outnumber liberals in this country by 3 to 1. Yet we are actually willing to settle for a big government RINO like Gingrich? If Gingrich wins the nomination, it will be worse than McCain three years ago.

I will not vote for Newt Gingrich, ever. He was already my Rep once. I've had enough.

If you support the individual mandates of Obamacare, then Newt is your candidate. If you don't, then I suggest you find a conservative candidate instead. I'm picking Rick Santorum, because he understands that government is the problem.

Actually what I said was I detest both Romney and Gingrich.

Huntsman has plenty of great ideas, but most here seem to think he’s a liberal.

Besides the global warming issue and working in the current administration, there is almost nothing to show that he is anything but a conservative.

But good try on spinning what I said to make a ludicrous point.

You Newt people, just can’t handle anyone having an opinion, different than yours, and have to result in name calling.

Huntsman gave the maximum donation to John McCain in 2008. He did not give a dime to Obama.

My comment was directed at his tenure as governor. If forced to make a choice, I would still prefer him over Big Government Gingrich.

sorry all - got called to dinner. Looking for link now.
UNTIL I GET IT: In short: Romney called out Newt and said something like for anyone looking for a career insider politician, Newt is your man - or something like that.

To which Newt fired back “if you consider someone who has been a governor, run for the senate, and run for President for six years an outsider - then Mitt is your man. So yes, I’m guilty of actually winning some elections...”

It was a Newt slam dunk. I’ll look for link!

You’re quite welcome.

Anyone who sees Newt as the future president of the U.S.A. is most certainly drinking the kool-aid.

That’s cute.

You can have all of the opinion you want. But you aren’t impressing me (former Cain guy) by acting like drama queens, which is just a front for pushing some C-string candidate.

WAke up and smell Reality,

Newt is not the insider - Romney is.

Romney is the golden boy of the Establishment Ivy League Elitists in Washington.

This is the Republican cabal that is used to choosing our candidates for us. they are now caught between ire and bewilderment at us - the little plebeians - who are end-running them.

I love watching mittens now. His plastic smile of “It’s MY TURN” confidence has given way to the look of a deer in the headlights.

We need to keep reminding people that MITTENS is the insider.

Newt is the LAST one the Establishment wants - they know he will also staff his cabinet and other offices with outside the cabal picks. Their very existence and power is threatened.

With President Gingrich - and very likely VP Col. West - another ‘outsider’ etc - the Washington Elitists will have to find a new clubhouse.

Those behind the scenes are pushing Romney, not Newt. They fear Newt for good reason, he doesn’t play by their rules

Exactly!

See my post #31

Romney is the insider...

Is this the Video?

If so, then I think Romney's attack is pretty weak...

Yep, I think Newt has some scores to settle with some GOP members of congress. He was Palinized long before Sarah was.

He is the last one the good-ol-boys in the GOP want in the White house.

YES, thank you for saving my thread. This short video is worth watching and I think - regardless of what you think about Mitt or Newt - most will agree that Newt won this exchange in a rout.

Because I disagree with you, I’m dumb?

Such an open minded individual, but I guess I should expect that from some of the posters.

The last line by Kraut was telling. He said “maybe the independents can save Romney” (in NH).

He looked like he was going to cry. I think they are all starting to worry that Newt is going to snatch the victory from Mittins.

One reason why Newt is getting traction: HE FIGHTS.

We’re sick of our candidates not defending their views (GWB) and not pointing out issues with Obama (mcCain). Newt will FIGHT.
