"Gingrich may have flip-flopped on global warming and the borders, etc, but so did Romney. Worse, Romney was an abortion/gay rights advocate and was actually responsible for installing homosexual marriage, tax payer funded abortion and big government mandated socialized healthcare on his watch. Romney was architect and advocate of liberal big government programs while Gingrich was architect and advocate of the small government Reagan Revolution!

Romney crossed the aisle and built a consensus with Ted Kennedy and the liberal Democrats and installed wall to wall liberal programs, liberal judges and liberal appointees. Gingrich aligned himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition and engineer the Reagan Revolution and the long lasting Reagan economy.

Krauthammer/Rove be damned. If it comes down to “I was an independent during Reagan-Bush, I’m not returning to Reagan-Bush” Romney vs the “Contract with America” Gingrich, I’m going with Gingrich every time."

#15 and #16 are great posts. Thanks monkapotamus and narses

Here is what a zogby poll learned on 11/30 from likely GOP primary voters:

We purposely wanted to learn how GOP voters perceived Romney’s commitment to “core beliefs” and asked this question about him, Gingrich, Herman Cain and Ron Paul:

Do you agree or disagree that the candidate “lacks core beliefs and will say whatever he believes may get him elected.”

61% percent agreed that description applied to Romney, while
      24% said that of Gingrich
      (Cain 20% and Paul 8%.)

FYI - .

Latest results (before Cain suspended) of remaining candidates

Much like what the government does with unemployment statistics, the following chart represents a 4-poll "rolling average" for the latest 20+ polls listed at RealClearPolitics.com (plus other recent national polls).

I also weighted the polls by their size. For example, a poll with a survey size of 1000 was weighted proportionately heavier than an 324 survey size.

Weighted 4-Poll Rolling Averages of the latest
20+ Polls listed at RCP   [as of Dec 3rd]
plus
YouGov polls 11/26 11/19, 11/12, 11/5, 10/29, 10/22, 10/15, 10/08, &
Poll Position 11/27, 11/22, 11/8, 11/1 polls inserted chronologically
I also broke the 11/9 - 11/14 Pew poll into two, (3-day) polls

(Example methodology for this chart will be on my profile page)
