I think Michelle just blew the tort reform question.

She didn’t explain why she is for federal tort reform.

There is the problem of the 10th amendment.

I could answer for her: if we get the Fed out of health care, then we can turn tort reform all the way back to the States.

As it is now, however, the Federal government *owns* your health care, your doctor and your health information. That was the first post I made on FR, back in 1998: The HIPAA act in 1996/1997, when the Secretary of Health and Human Services -— and anyone who claims that they work for him/her -— was given the power to go into any office that takes Medicare and see everything and even make copies. Then, they added provisions that essentially made HHS the owner of all information and materiel in any office that electronically transmitted information.

I agree why on earth does she think the federal government should control tort reform.
