Loving people always puts us on dangerous ground. The only safe action is to do nothing. The greatest, most loving, and wisest Man the earth has ever seen was hung on a pole for everybody to spit on until He died. It wasn’t Safe Friday; it was GOOD Friday. Loving means risk.
Somebody in a previous conversation today said that no man gives money without expecting something in return. I have never heard anything so cynical in my life. That’s saying that there is no man on earth who has real love. Wow, what an indictment of the people in that poster’s life.
We’ve seen self-serving cads in office for a long time, but to believe that real love doesn’t exist at all is a very, very sad thing.
It has nothing to do with being 'self serving', the fact is no minister of the church should leave himself and the church vulnerable to accusations of wrong doing.
That is what is burning Cain now.
