Cain ruined himself-with a little help from the media

That says it plain and simple gimmel.....

People can go on and on about his guilt or not....which really is beside the point...we've observed a Presidential Candidate showing us how he handles himself in the face of adversity and that in full view of the audience. Equally so how he handles the press.

When the first accusation came forward Cain made a reasoned and direct statement...and with that that his campaign would move forward. "end of story"..as he stated. But it wasn't... he could not resist speaking again and again and again... each time looking and speaking more foolishly than the prior responses as HE dug himself deeper into the hole.

However, he had a forgiving supporters who gave him the benefit of the doubt...not that Cain got himself out of the fix...his supporters did....and that was to his advantage more than anything whatsoever he said or did.

This last issue though is on a different scale altogether than that previous.....he's admitted he's guilty that he's had a relationship with a woman, conferred monetary resources of his family to this woman, and hidden it all from his wife over a 13 yr. period.

It doesn't matter how intimate or not the relationship is or what name Cain or anyone else might give it....it's infidelity on Cain's part for the fact 'he kept it hidden' from his wife for that long of a duration. Anything he states about it is simply trying to justify what can't be.

So now he's in a further pickle....if he stays in the race these accusations, and the fallout from, will continue to be a knot around his neck...the press will see to it and so won't Cain because he still hasn't learned to make his statements and move on. He just doesn't know when to shut up.

If he leaves the race then Obama/Democrates will surely see this as a victory for their side....as he knows Cain has been splitting the black vote which he desperately needs.

I hope Cain continues...but his wife certainly appears to have the last say in this. So we shall see....but when a man plays close to the edge of infidelity his "power" of influence will always suffer the most...and that at every area of his life.

Bingo!......You just nailed it FRiend. Cain can't keep his greenhorn mouth shut. He also really has no clue what he is talking about, most of the time. Especially the way he tries to come across as being an adequate government executive. The more he talked, the more most of us realized how poorly prepared and inadequate he is to lead this country.

The thing that gets me...what I can't fathom...is how these guys think that they can escape any close scrutiny when they decide to step into the political limelight.
Here's a little lesson for those conservative individuals who are contemplating running for office.....purge your hard drives,double-check past friends,neighbors,co-workers and lovers, make sure your spouse isn't fooling around and make sure your financial dealings are all on the up-and-up.
If you're not squeaky-clean or you can't readily produce irrefutable evidence that you're innocent of any wrongdoing, don't bother running. You make yourself look bad, cause a lot of frustration, confusion and dissention amid your supporters (or those who might want to support you),and it's a huge distraction in general.
