I played Fleet Command, a Naval game. You have only one chance to bring down the Russkie missiles. They always went after my carriers first. I would get the attacking bomber but then all my birds had to ditch because their flattop is usually in flames. It’s just a game but they use the parameters from all the latest weaponry.

I doubt it had directed energy weapons.

I used to play fleet command all of the time and found that as long as you could detect those cruise missiles early enough you could knock them down with very little loss of your own fleet.

The idea is to place your AWACS in position to detect the missiles without giving away your fleets position.

Same thing go’s with combat air patrols. You have to keep them far enough out where you believe the direction of attack will be.

It works every time.
