I used to play fleet command all of the time and found that as long as you could detect those cruise missiles early enough you could knock them down with very little loss of your own fleet.
The idea is to place your AWACS in position to detect the missiles without giving away your fleets position.
Same thing go’s with combat air patrols.You have to keep them far enough out where you believe the direction of attack will be.
It works every time.

Seriesly, Maddy Albright didn't like all the Navy and Marine guys with machineguns all over the ship for security when our Navy ships were in port.....and that got 19 of our best killed in Aden.
