Out of context, but that doesn’t surprise me from our resident Newt-hater.

He was speaking generally and he is correct.

He didn’t say all poor kids were lazy criminals. I am sure he will have to explain himself at some point, but I believe he is speaking of the underlying culture that has been bred. Obviously some escape, but the vast majority do not.

most kids - those with more, those with less - do not and will not work.

When the kids are poor this is a bigger problem because the parents do have the means to provide the gadgets and bling that kids want, so guess who they look to?

One size never fits all but he's right.

First he is correct as to the problem. Second I heard him tell Greta about this, he wants programs that give inner city kids practical work experience.

CBS is the worst.

“Poor neighborhoods”

aka ghettos

aka “under-served communities”

Not all are lazy, the drug sellers are real hustlers

and not all are criminal, collecting welfare for 5 generations is no crime

Newt is right, the kid from these neighborhoods who exhibits ambition and drive usually makes the headlines
as an anomaly

“All poor kids are lazy criminals??”

Thats not what Newt said. He said that in a lot of inner city Ghettos there are no jobs to be had, most people are out of work and live on welfare so kids have no way to experience working and making money legally as opposed to selling dope. He wants to establish work zones in these poor areas so kids can get a partime job just like in the burbs and experience the normalcy of working a regular job. Its a great idea.

He is correct. Poor people (those in poverty) are either from third world countries with second grade educations or come from families in most cases with little educational priorities.
Many of the students are able to sit, listen, learn, take direction, participate, do multiplication (outside of giving birth) and so on.

Cause and effect.
Because of the lack of a good structured education, you get the effect of more people from poorer people that can't earn a living later. Add drugs like pot, alchohol and other things and you have a mess.

Newt is right.
That was some straight talk.
