Never ever trust CBS. Newt is trying to help inner city kids with jobs not hand outs. His statement is not foolish unless we want to now enter fantasy land that all is well in the cities. Just incredible.

Ah! Someone else who remembers this classic series!

Yeah, well, our culture has come to worship the wrong things.
I am so tired, I don’t know how to fight it with my own kids thinking sex and money is everything and I find myself also wishing for no money stresses, what ever happened to altruism, loyalty, living for others, refusing to take unfair advantage....people think you are daft if you say those things.........

P.S., if you are a Cain person, then you have chosen one candidate who is an alleged adulterer, and are defending another one (Newt) that is a known adulterer, 2 times over. Nice choices on your part.

Can you believe now the media will portray Newt as dissing poor kids when he is talking about getting them job skills? And some on here will now pretend Newt Gingrich is blaming the kids he’d like to help. Or that it’s his fault. Oy.

He wants more government. He wants government make-work jobs.
I am sure he thinks a government jobs program for kids will put a man on mars or something.

LOL! I remember this series when it was in re-runs on CBN television. My local ABC station has a channel on their digital subcarrier that carries classic TV shows and The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis comes on at 6:30am. LOL

I am sure Newt will come up with a government program to solve this. Newt is not a conservative on ANY issue. Frankly, he is a leftist on every single domestic issue.

Here is something newt said today on abc... and it should concern every one of you. He was asked about his not attacking other republican candidates and newt made his statement again and he then... EXACTLY AS mccain did... he said that he "WOULD BE THE NOMINEE"... and that this coming election WOULD NOT BE A REFERENDUM ON obama... it would NOT BE ABOUT obama... that he was not going to attack obama etc etc etc... same as mccain did. We know exactly how that worked out for mccain. newt is embracing the failed politics of the high road... just like Bush and his “NEW TONE” garbage.
I had to read post after post by those trying to rationalize mccain... they said the high road is the right path... that we are better than the dims... well that is a false premise... you cannot win a fight without landing blows and if you refuse to fight... you will get the crap beat out of yourself.
If newt is nominated... he will be destroyed in the media while he will refuse to fight obama down in the gutter where obama lives.
AS RICK FLAIR SAYS... AND RICK IS A WINNER AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN... “TO BE THE MAN... YOU GOTTA BEAT THE MAN”. You cannot beat a political opponent by refusing to point out his weaknesses and failures... and with obamao... those are huge and are both PERSONAL and POLITICAL. I cannot believe how blind some Conservatives are.

Newt’s adulterous affairs are well documented, for years now. I see you have your blinders on.

Bingo Bingo Bingo. CBS is the worst and some Freepers need to get their heads out of their asses.
Which is it now? Gingrich is a flaming liberal but he insults poor people for not working?
Reality: he is talking about getting kids some work for $$ experience rather than a handout. CBS is evil and will use pretzel like logic to deny the kids such help. Now Newt is their enemy for wanting to help them develop good work habits!

Back in the 80s or early 90s, I'd have agreed with you. The job market in this country just isn't what it was twenty (or even five) years ago.

Seems to me that we expect more out of today's politicians personal lives than our nation's founders could have mustered.
