Scarborough: Newt 'Not Fit To Be President Of The United States' (MSNBC's "Conservative" responds)

UPDATE: Scarborough Responds--Don't Twist My Criticism of Newt Into Support For Obama

In response to an inquiry from this NewsBuster, Joe Scarborough has made clear that he strongly opposes President Obama's "disastrous" record, urging people not to twist his criticism of Gingrich into support for Obama. Full Scarborough statement after the jump.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Full Statement From Joe Scarborough In Response To NewsBusters Inquiry

"Anyone who watches the show or reads my Politico column knows that I believe Barack Obama's economic policies have been disastrous as they pertain to the issue I have fought for over 20 years: reducing the national debt. I have also consistently expressed grave misgivings about the president's foreign policy for years. So while I respect the president and am confident he is doing what he believes to be best for America, his views are dramatically different than mine.

"The assumption of some Gingrich supporters that my critiques of their candidate can somehow be twisted into support for Barack Obama suggests a knowing ignorance of my political beliefs over 20 years. I was more conservative than Gingrich while in Congress (95% ACU rating) and have remained more conservative than Mr. Gingrich since leaving Congress. Unlike the former speaker, I have supported the Ryan Budget, didn't get rich off of Freddie and Fannie, criticized Ethinol and never bragged about being a Rockefeller Republican.

"I have nothing personal against Newt. He's just not consistently conservative enough to win my vote. Barack Obama is also obviously not conservative enough to gain my vote."

I can’t stand Newt, but if the Quisling Joe Scarborough hates him, then that’s at least one thing he has going for him.

“Nothing personal”! Ha! That’s the dead giveaway in the piece. Scarborough hates Newt with a passion and it’s pretty clear that Newt once took him to the woodshed and he never got over it.

I am damn tired of holding my nose and voting.
I may not walk over broken glass to vote, but I will VOTE Republican. My nose is sore from holding it too much.

Me too but the Lame Stream Media has already taken out a couple real Conservatives leaving us with a full-fledged RINO and a Newt.

They know Obama is toast unless they can fully split the GOP which they are getting a good shot at. Scarborough is leading the charge over there at MSNBC because they know the Rats over there have no credibility and they think Scarborough does.

I listened to Medved on Thurs. He had a doctor on who had written a book on the subject of manic vs. normal personalities during times of crisis. It gave a strong argument that the flawed type, throughout history, were the successful ones during these times. It made Newt look a little bit better to me.

As far as I am concerned, Obama should not be re elected -- even if it means me voting for Mittins (my choice is Michelle Bachmann btw...).

If Newt is the nominee, I'll send money and vote for him; if mittens is the nominee, I will also vote for him.

Yes... Mittens is slippery, but at least he doesn't rub our faces in excrement as McCain does. I cannot stand four more years of the Messiah and neither can the country.

If Newt becomes the Pubbie Candidate ...Scarborough’s words above will be the kindest the MSM spouts about Newt...and Herman Cain will look like a choir boy relative to Newt come election night.

If Romney became the nominee ... they would be making whole mini-series on the Mormon cult and the Romney family polygamist past.

I'll take Newt, and be thankful

Maybe it is Newt’s turn. Obama made us wish we had Carter instead and now newt can make us wish for HW again.

Maybe Scarborough knows something about Newt that we don’t.

Like a dead intern in his office.

Oh, wait . . .

Get over her. She threw your ID bracelet down in front of your feet as you stood by your locker next to the home ec class.

Joe has forgotten how people live back in good ol Pensacola. Been hanging with that blond idiot for much too long.

-"Sarah Sarah Please.

The 99.5% perfect candidate is not out there running. Unfortunately, we will be left to choose between the 35% to 65% perfect candidate.

"Unfortunately, we will be left to choose between the 35% to 65% pefect candidate."

The same as we always have. Very few have been 66% to 100% perfect. Even that 35% perfect candidate will be better that the 0% president.

So what's that mean? I'm going to stay home?

Obama is a disaster. If Newt is the nominee I will happily vote for him despite all his baggage including the Freddie money.

But Perry is still my choice.

“So while I respect the president and am confident he is doing what he believes to be best for America”

Scarborough is wind-bag and a shill for NBC.
